Right now I'd say no chance. With having 1 or 2 failures would probably fly, 4 is starting to be seen as excessive. They also don't really like online degrees. If I were you I'd go someplace with flow or head to Atlas and hope for UPS or FedEx or a LCC. Not being mean, but there are only 2-4 spots out of every 10 interview for non military guys.

Impossible to say. I got hired. Failed PPL flight, CFII oral, T-1 UPT checkride, then another T-1 oral. Those last two aren’t really “checkrides” per se, but I talked about what I learned from them in the interview. Just pass all your 121 training events and you’ll get on somewhere for sure eventually.

That has not been the case for a while. It is usually 50%-70% civilians who interview.

An oral is part of the checkride. A failed oral is a failed checkride.

I don't count required DGI guys.

I think he was more referencing that his T-1 check and oral aren’t quite on the same level as an FAA Check...as they’re more progress checks. Just the way it read to me.

My mistake, I didn't see the T-1 oral. I thought he was referring to the CFII oral.

CFI orals have a high failure rate and some people forget to count those as failures on their application. I have reviewed a few applications that try to treat the oral as something separate than the checkride.

Comments like the one above are only opinions based off the perception of how competitive it is. You make your own reality. PM sent.

Or made it.

Nothing wrong with having hope, but it's fair to be honest about one's competitiveness.

It's an internet forum, so we should all understand the quality and variety of feedback one will get here.

I know guys who have been hired here with more than 2 failures.

It's probably more like 7/10 for non-mil guys in new-hire classes.
