Flying int'l, the peanut packets hardly ever make their way to the cockpit. When they do, I chow down. I love those things. The only bummer is all the packaging. I like them way better than the hot nuts that hardly ever make their way to the cockpit.

What about diet coke allergies?

I believe the peanut policy is just that they will. Of be served if possible on flights where someone lets the company know they have an allergy. They will still be boarded just the FA's are supposed to make an announcement that they will not be served. There is more to the policy than that if you want to read it.

What's ironic about all of this, is that research is showing that this growing peanut allergy problem is *potentially* caused by kids not being exposed to them early on in their lives (womb or as babies).

Studies now show people who grow up on farms, who are exposed to all kinds of viruses, bacteria, allergens, etc.etc., have much better immune systems than people who do not. Yep, the farm kids are stronger and healthier than your subdivision suburbs kid (but probably not smarter). Scientists are studying the Amish communities because they are resistant to all kinds of allergies ... even Cholesterol.

Amish farm kids remarkably immune to allergies: study | Reuters

As a kid, we didn't have the types of sterilizing soaps we have today. We don't need them and they're bad for you. For decades we've over prescribed or wrongly prescribed (colds, viral infections) antibiotics so much that traces of antibiotics are now found in the water supply!!! Super bacteria are now being produced. This drive to be sterile is actually going to come back and kill us.

Ok ... time to watch War of the Worlds ... there's a lesson there for you germaphobes.

I just got home from watching "Battleship" with my son. So much potential. It was only alright. It kinda followed the same formula that Cowboys versus Aliens followed. I have been looking forward to this movie with my son for so long that maybe I projected that it would be better.

The Avengers on the other hand was excellent overall.

Yeah, I agree. I didn't want to show such unbridled enthusiasm. I could get mistaken for Billy Mumfrey.

Well, that did lead to his downfall.

The most awesome part for me is seeing the (ships/monster/snake) things go through my old bosses' office. They are one block up from Grand Central. The Avengers main battle ground was right out front of the building. Made me think, "jeesh, glad I don't work there"

Our date night wasn't long enough to do a movie, but I saw the trailer for the Dictator.

It has our NYC hotel in it. You can't mistake that lobby.

Man they like filming movies there.

Give Megan Fox credit... you'll see...
