Admit-tingly, I am losing a little faith in ALPA. These trial balloons are a direct tool to lower expectations.

I second this post. I guess I know why everyone here dislikes my posts. I am in the minority. I will be one of the 30 percent "no voters."

Question...purely hypothetical. I do not have any advanced knowledge...just trying to use my Louisiana education. How would it look if we are able to get 6 hrs. a calendar day? That would make a four day trip worth 24 hours minimum, 3 day 18, etc. If that was factored in with a higher ALV, wouldn't we wind up working less than now? I commute and fly mostly four days, averaging 14-15 days a month away from home. If the day credit was calendar based and was raised to 6 hours, would't I be working less days away from home for the same number of hours. Now factor in a 20% increase in the pay rate and it is now a different ballgame. Please understand, I am not trying to settle....just trying to wrap my poor, burned out mad dog brain around possible options. Would someone better with numbers like to play around with this and let me know how it looks. Jethro Bodean and I are not far apart, mentally.

We'll see. It is too early for DefCon 4.

To me that would help the cause.

Hence, why the reason not to go to defcon 4 over the nnp and hope what was said there was more strategic than it looks. Say a mutually agreed to lead trial balloon of some concessions that the NC does not want and not some all of a sudden sloppy communicating of portions of something that does not and should not be released piecemeal.

That's the glass half full view.

Section 1, however, still remains seperate from Section 2 and on.

So sailing is saying that the survey said we are happy to be paid less than SWA pilots on similar equipment 700s vs 88s cause less than 30% doesn't get us there.

That was a bombshell sailing posted as well. Very suspicious he would reveal anything about the survey results, much less that huge nugget of info.

These will greatly affect staffing numbers (more stagnation) and would make reserve potentially very abusive.

Reserve

o Reserve guarantee

§ Increase to 72:00 – 80:00 (variable with ALV)

§ Max reserve changed from ALV to ALV + 15:00

§ Ability to pick up additional on-call days for increased reserve guarantee

o X-days

§ Increase to 13/14 for bid periods with a reserve guarantee of 72:00-74:59

§ Remain at 12/13 for bid periods with a reserve guarantee of 75:00-80:00

§ Max of seven for bid periods with a reserve guarantee of 75:00-80:00 (delayed until 14-hour int’l short call implemented under new FARs)

§ Ability to pick up additional short call period for increased reserve guarantee

Suspect indeed.

For months now ALPA has been telling us that it would be foolish and irresponsible to disclose that number. That it would give management an advantage in the negotiations. Like showing your cards in poker, yada yada.
So the day the pay rate talks begin, sailingfun comes out and not only claims to know the number but posts it on a public website. And surprise surprise, its a lowball number.
Something doesn't smell right.
