Ferd, the best way to operate the current FOM depends if you knew where the info was previously found (eg chapter) or if you like the index. If you knew where it was originally, just go to the old NW FOM pages and see what the reference says on the right hand side. If it says NW...than that reference applies, if it says DF, the DL FOM reference applies. If you can not find it in the old chapter..look in the index and go to that reference. You also use the exceptions pages to cross check the validity.
There still will be unresolved issues at SOC and after.

I'm still working on the revisions. But the Twix bars, them's is the devil's food. I think I've gained five pounds eating on those calorie delicious snacks.

I'm still having a terrible time remembering to say "checks" at 500 feet. Oh, the humanity!
Flew with one CA that instead of saying "checks"... to remind himself he would say a different cereal name at 500 feet. It worked, haha.
I still think "hold my beer, watch this" should be a callout prior to initiating any takeoff or landing procedure. Maybe that will come in phase 5.

We thought the 500 checks thing was you guys.............we didn't do it.
My response to "1000 feet, cleared to land" is "no response required"

ACL/Professor...........VNav on the preflight the best you got??? I just watched the phase 3 LMS.........argggggggggggggg I'm not smart enough to keep up with all this. Plus, throw in the manual tranisitions? I've got to watch how to look up stuff in the FOM again, is it on a white black bordered Delta Page or a Red page? Geeze, why don't they just send us the finished manuals? This is like pulling off a bandaid REAL SLOW (yes I know, SOC).
Started to watch the new ACARS section, but it's 37slides.........I couldn't take any more.
Ferd
PS..............I do like the new takeoff with an engine failure procedure.

The most painful tooth pulling change for some down here is the challenge and response shutdown checklist. I flew with one captain that turned to the lca checking him and said "I don't do it." lca said they'd be changing back in time to the DALS way sometime after soc.
I guess some refuse to change. I just hope we don't extend that train of thought to the whole merger. I hear all the time about how we once were the largest airline in lax after the Western merger and then we gave it up. I'll hate myself if in 20 years I'm telling some 30 year old fo about how we were once the largest carrier in msp and dtw before we gave it to swa.
