I have to admit, I do not get that. It seems like myopia to me.

I can state that there are more than a few items in that article that are wrong.

As for 24J. Its fricken contractual. DAL has to pay for it just like they have to pay for our rates that are agreed to in there. Same as a BE seat on an ocean crossing; its a contractual benefit and agreement. There are plenty of things that DAL probably does not want to pay for, but the contract stipulates that they do.

They pay for the scheduling chair that gains hundreds of thousands of dollars a year for improper trip coverage. I am sure they hate that too, but the position is covered. Cripes.

It does not marginalize these guys. It saves about 4-5 million from our 10 or so million a year for the MEC operation for other items like PUB events, the SEMRA etc. I'd say its not a way to marginalize us.

Again, if there are transparency issues in DALPA, they are not because of the structure. People make those decisions, not the structure. Ugh.

Not my intent I just don't see the world through Carl's myopic lenses. Reps doing their best to not lie to my face while maintaining their NDA should be a good thing.

They passed the line from 'wrong' to just flat out lying about the events.

Yes, the reps should maintain their NDA's both the MEC NDA and the SEC NDA. It is my belief that the reps have been doing such without question.

Hey Carl and gang,

I emailed my reps and was pleasantly surprised by the reply. My first reply came at midnight. The second showed up in my inbox before I woke up the next morning. These guys are working 24/7. I did not ask for numbers or specifics nor did I expect any in the replies. I will not quote or copy and paste their private email on here. I will state that you could infer that they strongly agree with the following quote; "Not one more seat, not one more jet". Hopefully the scheduling gods will be nice so I can attend the meeting next week. Talking directly to my reps sure has helped alleviate the anxiety from reading the doomsday forums! Underboob please.....

Yeah, had a great conversation with the a Capt rep during our BK negotiations and he told me scope was his number one priority (sure it is, with your 12k pension, lump sum at risk) Captain buddy called him 2 days later, "the pension" is my number one priority...
