That's a different debate.
The 737 is a much more capable aircraft. It can fly from SLC to SJC and from SJC to JFK. Both probably much cheaper than the 88.
Because it is more capable, it should be paid more. Why? The pilots didn't buy it. We are only equipment operators. We don't get any extra bonus because of the way we operate the airplanes.. i.e. fuel underburn, saving time, etc... why do you suppose that is?
I don't even think the 88 can fly from SLC to ATL on a hot summer day, unless you take off without a full load.
I'm not trying to disrespect the 88 pilots (but you will anyway), because they work equally hard. It's just that when the pay was established on the 737N, it was high because of the contributions it made to the company bottom line. So, because it was done that way in years past means it is just as valid today?

Offering a player like Anthony Davis a chance at a diploma for what he bring$ to the university is a joke. That goes for all athletes.

...and I don't doubt that his rate would exceed our 12-yr 747 CA rate...just to tie into this thread's primary topic
Before the affairs started, the wife told management hubby "I'll only do it in three positions. Boeing, Airbus, and Douglas, and Douglas makes me sore. I used to let you pull a little Lockheed action, but that's when we were young and foolish."
"Don't even think of asking me to do any of that kinky stuff... Bombardier, Embraer, or heaven forbid DeHavilland. Eww that's nasty."
So hubby's off to Kristi because she's great at Bombardier, and anything flies with Candy.
The wife might want to set aside her dignity and bring the Bombardier and Embraer in-house. Let Kristi and Candy go mess with someone else's hubby.

Maybe I've been married too long, but I'd like to point out...

Pinnacle's reorganization plan outlines Delta's management of PNCL:
At mainline we have enjoyed a benevolent attitude from management. However, we should view Comair and now Pinnacle as a measure of what (in some cases the same people) are capable of. IMHO, a regional who does not have its own code always runs this risk. None the less, my thoughts are with these fellow members of our union and it is hoped each and every one that needs a job, finds better than what they have now.
- 13 week operating plan and 1 year budget to be approved by Delta weekly
- That plan REQUIRES labor cuts
- If negotiated cuts are not successful, the plan REQUIRES PNCL seek rejection of the contracts through 1113
- US Air, United and Saab flying down by end of 2012. EAS flying down by June
- While the agreement provides 4 and 1/2 years on the CRJ200 flying, Delta can terminate for any breach (which Delta can unilaterally declare) and / or as the financing for each individual aircraft comes up.
- CRJ 900's going to another operator

Yes, Pinnacle (and Delta, since Delta agreed to pay the increased cost) did just enter into a new PWA in February 2012... and yes, they are now demanding that the new PWA be rejected.

Don't forget Mesa successfully renegotiated favorable CRJ-200 lease termination dates all through their Chapter 11. PNCL has precedence to do the same.
