He could go to the Redskins and disappear like everyone else that enters that black hole.

He could go to the Bears. They never had a QB and their coach doesn't believe in QBs, so he's an improvement. Newk?

About Seattle? Do they play on tv?

Jacksonville, man no offense to anyone who loves Jax, but wow, DEN to JAX would be painful. Although he'd be home. But he was home schooled, so is that really home?

Atlanta? He could come here and learn what it's like not to win.

Carolina? Well, they already have a Peyton/Tebow mix at QB. War Cam Eagle.

Cleveland! Because it would take an act of God to make that place relevant and sell jerseys, and so here's their chance!

He could go to Denver? Oh right. Well, Elway's got to be so excited. Peyton!? Get rid of the Tebow thing! Crowd loves him again... until Peyton gets injured and is out. Where's Tebow? You SOB!

So we gettin' these 717s or not?

How about we take them and rename them the MD-95s. Just for fun.

A pilot contract that is viewed as above the abstract they have created with the other employees will lead to big problems. After our 2001 contract they had to follow up with a 17 percent raise to the mechanics when things started to get ugly there.

I suspect they will be willing to put forth a contract with some impressive numbers in the out years. They will not put out anything near what I or most pilots expect in the short term. The collapse of talks at UAL and the 1113 action at AMR will leave the company thinking and serious raises for the pilots will put their pilot costs way to high and that they will have other costs with non union employee fallout. The package they put forth will be back loaded while the package we want and deserve will have to be front loaded. I see the gap between the two as far to big to be bridged before we go to the NBM. The NMB has made it clear we can expect a very long process if we go that route.

Again this is going to be a long difficult contract with a lot of choices that have to be made. Don't start spending raises now. They may not come for 5 years.
You keep saying this sailingfun despite the FACT that their PowerPoint said no such thing. And people who were in the room said the NMB stated no such thing. Please post ANY evidence to back up what you claim. My evidence is the NMB's PowerPoint and the words of my reps. What's your evidence?

And either did Boeing until the Navy put out these Specifications:

Passenger Rig - 122 Passengers.
Cargo rig - 7 standard Air Force Pallets.
Combination Rig - 68 Passenger aft and three Pallets forward.

So Boeing dutifully designed the C-40 to meet these specifications - and it did. So the Navy flies the Plane. Flies it in the Combi rig - drops off the passengers but the pallets stay on for the next leg. Then the load-masters cannot get the plane withing CG limits.

The Navy complains to Boeing. Boeing says "Whats the problem Navy?" Well we can't get the aircraft within limits in the combi rig with three pallets and no passengers. Boeing says - "Well thats not what you asked for - you asked for three pallets with 68 passengers." Well thats right up to 68 passengers and three pallets. No, not up to 68 passengers - 68 passengers. Well don't you think we might ever want to carry pallets without passengers in the combi rig? Well I guess, but you didn't ask for that.

And so it goes for about two years until they come up with brilliant idea of putting some type of temporary removable ballast in the planes at first. Well this solution would make Rube Goldberg proud so finally the Navy and Boeing say "The Hell with it - put 1500 lbs in the ass of all future C-40s. Don't know if the latest airframes have a better solution or not - I will check it out.

Kind of funny when you hear about all the trouble getting the 787 down to weight. Then again a single Navy air wing probably dumps more fuel then the C-40's use every year.

There won't be any fragmentation targets to trigger because SWA is simply replacing a small fleet type like airlines do from time to time. That is not a free ticket to sport bid onto another airline's list.

AT guys are now SWA guys and no longer ALPA and have no fragmentation triggers under the SWA PWA.

This is true. There seems to be some miss understanding about fragmentation. Fragmentation is when you purchase a portion of a airlines operation. The airframes are almost irrelevant. What matters are the gates and route authorities and the other airline vacating those routes. If we purchase 717's from SW and in addition they give us additional gates in ATL for the aircraft along with vacating the routes then we should take the pilots with them. If not the pilots stay at SW and fly the replacement aircraft. Airlines replace aircraft all the time. Its not fragmentation.
