On the trim tab emailed recently it talks about Jumpseat etiquette. The FOM guidance seems to contradict what I've been told to do. Anyone else notice this?

A 600 foot loss would not be unheard of in mountain wave, and I'd consider that to be severe turb. A 6000 foot loss I would think would somehow make the evening news, probably a divert, and possible structural damage. I'd certainly report that as "EXTREME" turbulence, which it wasn't. I've just never heard of a 6000' loss of altitude in any sort of wave action... it would bear studying by NASA and others if it actually happened. Be careful out there!
I thought the 6000 was also extreme....

Is it that odd to think that regional guys could be scope hawks too? In my experience, most of us would love to see our jobs scoped out of existence. We've been working in the belly of the beast for years, seen that it's bad for our profession and ultimately our own careers, and would love nothing better than for mainline guys to grow a pair and kill the two-tier regional/mainline system once and for all - even if it put us temporarily out of a job. We know that flying would still exist, just at the mainline level, where there could be unity between small-jet and big-jet drivers.

No, my guess is he doesn't want to be part of a regional whipsaw the rest of his career.

Anything over an hour in an RJ sucks from a PAX point of view, no matter how big the number is after the dash.

I was curious since it says we have 0 furloughs on here. Thought maybe they all went to Emirates or something.

I am thinking Ann Arbor or Novi areas, as I don't really want to be in the hood. I have a lot invested in tools & toys, so a safe area is a must. Just starting my search, so if you have any ideas, post or PM.

Thanks
I haven't moved up there yet but I am looking and my wife and I really like Novi. It is not as trendy as Ann Arbor, but it has some unique places to eat and drink. Novi is close to other nice areas like Northville and even Plymouth. I'm going to check out Royal Oak soon. If you don't mind gays I've heard it is a really cool area to be.

The deadline to extend the bypass has past. DAL has sent out notices to those that have not filed paperwork stating they have an intent to return when hiring resumes. Those that turned down that offer have been removed from the seniority list.

Nothing shocking here.

I just hope no pilot is removed from the list who has a desire to return. I guess everyone has some responsibility to stay informed, but hopefully they were notified to give their intent to return or not, prior to being removed.

I think you're saying this is what happened. Correct?
