Fly, they have wanted it for years, but a certain department here at DAL-S did not want the E jet. They also could not get the planes for the lease terms they wanted. In effect a non starter.
Now as the economics of the DCI fleet are not what they were, there is an added pressure getting that part of the fleet plan under way.

It does not really matter what people think or believe. It is really simple, just vote no. Better yet, make sure that in 2012 we do not have a single MEC member that is willing to allow anything with scope relaxation in a TA even come to a pilot vote.

I agree that we as a group have the right to be wary of this. I need to be that way given the past actions. I honestly believe that both sides of the fence (management and the union) know that allowing the 100 seat jet at the regionals is a non starter, even if it came with a teaser of a 30% pay jump.
In effect, that would outsource 3000 more jobs.

I know many 50+ pilots that are dead set against a scope sale. They get it. More are getting it every day.

I recently flew with on Captain that grumbled to himself every time he passed an RJ. It was the best four day trip I have ever had!

I understand what you're saying. My point is that it's good to know that this discussion is occurring within the walls of Delta Senior Management. It's a start.

I believe you're correct. I would like to be a fly on the wall to hear what is being said regarding RAH/Frontier/MidWest.

I can tell you from owning my own business and being a contractor in the past, when a subcontractor makes a move to to cut you out of the pattern, it's war.... I often remark on this web-board, "it's just business", but sometimes business boardroom can take on the feeling of a war room. Whatever is happening with RAH, I hope our guys have a proactive response.

What are the details of this 100 seat plan as you know it? Understand this was discussed at the C44 meeting as well. My Reps have heard nothing.

I am sure that if the loads drop again or we aggressively cut summer 2010 more than 5% we will revisit this.
It came down to one meeting, and they opted to keep the bottom 200-500.

I will say. I am floored. I figured they would do it. From what I have been told they are saying that an opportunity to take advantage of another carrier will happen within the next 22.5 months since that is the ROI on a furlough investment.

No furloughs for now. As always, subject to change.
