I think those still on bypass have 'expired' ie. there is a time limit to how long you can bypass. Is it 5 years? I'm not sure, but, that limit has been reached for those 240 I guess.

I don't think this is correct. Folks who have bypassed still have opportunity to return when hiring resumes. If memory serves me right, there were some extensions granted with the merger as well. I believe the update simply is stating all those furloughed have been offered a recall.

Of course we know they have bypassed but is there something I don't know about, as in have they given up their recall rights? Because if not we still have furloughs right?

I believe recall time was extended to 14 years with the merger. However, I believe once they hit the 10 year mark they were required to send a letter stating if they were still interested in returning in order to get the extra 4 years.

So, you want this CR7 scoped to St.Croix because you guys at Pinnacle don't have CR7s? Is that right? Or is it because you plan to go there in May and want more seats available to non-rev?

Lightbulb DTW Area Garage?

Hey Guys,

Looks like I am going to DTW with this last displacement bid (AE). Thinking of renting a small townhome or apartment within two hours of the airport. I am planing on bidding reserve and I need a place with a garage, as I am a gearhead. I have a few bikes and a snowmobile or two and my plan is to turn a wrench while on call. I am thinking Ann Arbor or Novi areas, as I don't really want to be in the hood. I have a lot invested in tools & toys, so a safe area is a must. Just starting my search, so if you have any ideas, post or PM.

Thanks

Ice,

I was wondering the same. The Mountain Wave program has been on the quarterly CQ disk the last couple of quarters but without the tailored routes. Were they on a route? Etc etc

Probably not a discussion for a public forum. I'm hope no one got seriously injured!

I hear there are plenty of wenches that need turning in suburbia. I can see your craigslist ad now, "amish pilot in search of desperate housewife"

IIRC, there were no tailored routes in effect at the time. There was a massive cold front with jetstream pushing over the front range, and flying through it about 12 hours later was quite rough. I've not heard any reports of injuries, which is surprising, but I'm now starting to wonder if they might have accidentally added a zero to "600" feet. A 600 foot loss would not be unheard of in mountain wave, and I'd consider that to be severe turb. A 6000 foot loss I would think would somehow make the evening news, probably a divert, and possible structural damage. I'd certainly report that as "EXTREME" turbulence, which it wasn't. I've just never heard of a 6000' loss of altitude in any sort of wave action... it would bear studying by NASA and others if it actually happened. Be careful out there!
