Hey,
Can a few more of you go to the “Aviation Survey” section on this forum and fill out my fatigue survey that’s listed in there…thanks…I promise I’ll post an APC violating underboob photo when complete in celebration. Thanks for helping me remove the “monkey” (sts) off my back…Cheers…

AE Question, If I had a VD from DTW320 to NYC765, did not get an award, but 4 people from ATL junior to me did get it, would that make sense? Thanks

Well, I just found out something that cost me 5 hours. How many of you think that you can change your standing qualifiers when you enter a whiteslip, greenslip? You know, from the page that pops up with your standing qualifiers after you have entered your WS, GS preferences? I did and it's WRONG!! The only place you can change your standing qualifiers is from the PCS main menu. Even though it LOOKS like you can change each individual request, YOU CAN'T!!!! End Rant!

It could. Did you have an AE in for NYC765? If noone from your category was getting displaced then a VD does no good. Also, if the pilots junior to you that you would be VD'ing in lieu of can't hold NYC765, then no you wouldn't get it.

I had an AE in for ATL M88 F/O & junior people were awarded that category on MD & VD. My bids all mirrored each other. What is the order of award? Did I screw something up?

Maybe. But the pressure at the bottom end would be enormous, especially without rock solid scope being recaptured first.

Would we ever see a "hundred" seater at mainline at 747 rates? How long would the aging MD88's with no replacement on the books stay, paying 747 pay?

Would we face more, less or the same pressure to outsource an entire coast to Alaska if everything we could potentially use ourselves payed 747 pay?

The only way to mitigate something like that would be to do it by weighted fleet averages. IOW, come up with traditional pay rates for each individual type, then blend them all in to the master scale. If we pick up a few 380's, yay, we all get a raise!

But...if we dump the 747's and replace them with more ER's (or just don't replace them?), we all get a haircut. If we actually do get a "hundred seater" or actually start getting scope back and get 76 seaters back at mainline, the pay cuts would be significant...thus even further reducing our political resistance to outsourcing even more on the lower end to "save" the pay of the top end.

Now if we could run a passenger airline like a global cargo airline where the smallest thing is a 757 on up to a 747/380 with only caravans and whatnot allowed to be outsourced, maybe it would work. But we would have to already have the scope in place first. Yet that still assumes you could run a viable passenger airline with significant domestic service without smaller narrow body aircraft, or else those aircraft would be used to drag down the entire scale and the union and company would forge an even stronger partnership to outsource the bottom end.

Was anyone junior to you, in your category and base displaced, and if so, could their seniority number hold NYC765? If not, that's why you didn't get it. If so then pursue it.

Failed to get NYC765 on a VD? Watched junior people get, while junior people left your own category on VD's?

I'm thinking about starting a support group.
