BTW, in my dealings and others who have sent me emails, texts or pm's about this subject, the common response from rep's has been "the new system is what pilots demanded and if you don't like the system it's because your junior." Which is, let's all recall, a relative thing because you can be a 1987 hire sitting reserve on the 777A and not be happy.

But did I miss the survey on this? When did it happen?

One thing though, I've seen a change in tone to the positive and more receptive to other ideas lately, and that I appreciate.

I don't think Gautbomb (PBGC head) will allow any of the pensions to be terminated.

Agree, thus my post. There will have to be another "solution" for the pilots.

The PBGC can make as much noise as they want, but the company can get the pilots to willingly terminate if they come down to imposing a new contract.

It was the Scheduling Optimization Team survey that resulted in LOA 29 which was passed via MEC vote and not MEMRAT.

Even though it would have passed via MEMRAT, I urged my reps to have it sent to the pilots if nothing more than to get their heads back in to the PWA.

If all the other parties involved agree to a termination does the PBGC get a vote? If they can't stop a termination can they massage it in a certain direction or form?

AMR is worried the pilots would take their lump sum and leave...

-AMR needs pilots
-AMR knows many AA pilots would leave if they could
-AA pilots via the PBGC are still the largest single creditor contingent

I apologize if this has been asked before.

Would a contract extension require MEMRAT?
