So he thinks he should just not have to come in at all? Well, I can see how he'd get that idea in his head, but in a smaller category he should expect that. Now imagine what the junior guys in his category are doing if he had to do 4 SCs...something probably close to 6 SCs and 3X the flying he got). If the buckets were smaller he might have gotten a 2 or 3 day trip and avoided a couple of SCs.

Default Nqat

Anyone have any ideas to max credit for NQAT line with TR and remainder is shadow? I have NQAT 4/1-9 then TR 4/9-20 and then shadow bid after that. Any PBS gurus know how to max credit for this month since I have never been so lucky to be MD'd? for the 3rd time on the West Coast

Maybe I should just apply at our new regional Alaska!

PM's would be welcomed

Not to single you out since this is a company issue. It seems like the new reserve system is akin to a senior line holder dropping a drip onto your line and you having to fly it while he doesent and still gets paid.
Why is someone hitting 150 while someone else isn't flying? I hit 80 early last month and never flew again.

It happens when you're in a category where the reserve coverage is soooo lop sided (big holidays, or just about most weekends). If you're junior, and got stuck working those days couple times a month, and if all the senior guys all bid those days off. You could keep flying because simply, they're running out of people during the weekends.

You could be at, say, a raw of 85 and get put on short call and then they call you out for a 5 day trip. Do that with another short call and you get the picture.

The SC buckets run 0-2, 3-5, and 6+. SC's are assigned in the following order starting with the first bucket.

YS request for SC in seniority order
Assigned to pilots not requesting in inverse seniority order
Once bucket one is exhausted they jump to the second bucket and start the process over.
Short call buckets don't start till May.

Or I could be at 5 this month and be on long call while the most senior reserve guy got put on SC and got called out for a 7 day. Happened a few days ago.

In the lounge it was being discussed that the new reserve system was concocted in order to help out some ALPA reps and good pals. The key is if enough guys complain, the new reserve system will get an overhaul. It really makes you start to think about the integrity of our current union.

Well, perhaps we should just focus on the new 'ALPA uniform Survey' instead... nice priorities with our dues, this group has me very concerned with C2012.

If i want to bid to have 20% below me in a category do bid 80% in low % box? Example out of a 100 pilot category I want to be number 80 or above, how do I bid that. Thanks.
