Yes, I admit, I am a dumb bunny who can't spell lose.... To bad they don't teach you how to play football in Knoxville...

Yes, a 25% pay raise.

It is simple. That should not even come to the membership for a vote. The MEC should direct the Negotiating committee to not even put scope on the table. It is not for sale.

Honest question, how do you force the MEC not to put something on the table? Let them negotiate and then if scope was put on the table vote down the TA and recall or is there a better way?

Between the scope battle on RJs and an AF takeover, we certainly have some major league threats to consider over the next few years.
Not advocating here, just looking at making what you said a possibility:

What about going to congress and saying this business environment is so difficult, our pricing power so strained, the global market too complex, our purchasing power too weak and blah blah blah, so we are proposing strengthening our existing Skyteam operation such that we will inessence become Skyteam Airlines. The new airline will be run out of AMS and it will handle all of our branding, finance and revenue management operations. All of the partners in Skyteam will now paint all of their aircraft in Skyteam livery.

We will strictly handle flight operations and thus be a Skyteam Connection Carrier. There will be job losses, but it will be non-union job losses which you folks in Congress don't really really care about anyways. If it makes you happy, Delta, Air France/KLM, China Southern will own 25% of Skyteam Airlines with neither carrier allowed to own more or less. The remaining 25% will be split between our partners.

Do you think you could sell that to Congress?

From DLNET:
SkyTeam announces centralized organization, core management team
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
June 26, 2009

SkyTeam on Friday announced significant milestones in the creation of a new centralized organization for the alliance and a new core management team for the international partnership.

A Delta employee will serve on the new management team, whose key function will be to collaborate on alliance business and to develop new benefits for passengers. The alliance will have its headquarters in Amsterdam.

“SkyTeam has operated as a virtual entity since its inception,” said Marie-Joseph Malé-managing director, SkyTeam. “However, as the industry becomes increasingly complex and the alliance continues to pursue global growth, the transition to a central management structure remains a top priority. We have already made significant progress, and the alliance is working diligently to ensure the office is up and running no later than fourth quarter of 2009.”

Six executives from partner airlines were chosen to serve on SkyTeam’s new management team. Delta’s Gordon Humpherys, director-North Atlantic operations, will be SkyTeam vice president for airport services. Mauro Oretti of Alitalia was named vice president, sales and marketing. Ji-sung Hong of Korean Air was named vice president, alliance operations. Min Zeng of China Southern will be deputy managing director, membership development. Jean-Guy Lengline of Air France was named vice president, support and services. And Fatima da Gloria de Sousa of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will be director, brand and communications.

I want stickers that say "I don't want to be paid the most, I want to be paid the longest!"

How about, "I want to be paid." That'd work for me.

The only way I'd feel good about that is if the negotiators seniority numbers were: 12,383; 12,384 & 12,385.

Thanks for all the help on the Memphis living situation!

I posed the same question in the cargo section and it seemed to ignite a fire between the love it and hate it crowd. haha
