He means that the company will come to the MEC with just a good enough offer that it has to go to memrat. It will probably be a two year extension with minor changes so that they can go on their shopping spree. It makes sense to have us locked down and probably supporting whatever acquisition they choose to do. Saves time and keeps their costs known going forward.
I said I would be surprised to see section 6 about sic months ago. The company's window is closing but there is still time for them to do this.

What I mean by that is many (I think the vast majority...) are tired of the bankruptcy pay-rates and work rules we are still working under. Yes, there have been some work rule improvements, but any offer from the company will have to be very significant.
A few shares of stock and another couple of years of COLA-like increases will not be acceptable this time....
That Kirk Herbstreit!
I'll bite, why sleepy? Does he put you to sleep or does he fall asleep in meetings?
It isn't easy. I drive a 15 yr old mini-van, my long-suffering wife didn't get a real diamond until 15 years into our marriage, coincidentally shortly after I bought my watch, I pack my own food for trips - yep, my priorities are not conventional.

My guess is that it will take almost all of the current DTW and MSP -9 crews to staff 17 airplanes. So the unknown for me is will they open an ATL -9 base? At first this seems like a waste, but given the fact that a lot of folks will decide to commute the job and those that move would be destine to move to ATL eventually, I'm not so sure the ATL -9 base would be such a waste.

While I'm not privy to the contract survey results, my impression from talking with fellow pilots is they are not in a mood to keeping "kicking the can down the road".

Can anyone recommend an AME on the north side of ATL?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I've only got payscales going back to 1990, but there haven't been any "ups and downs" in Southwest pay rates. I don't know how to do the FtB magic posting of excel docs, but your tfp converted to hourly rates undercut Delta by a minimum of 15% in September 1991 (DAL$143.21/LUV $122.04) up to 37% in May 2004 (DAL $256/LUV $162). Our pay plunged 32.5% with LOA-46 in December 2004, and was reduced a further 14% in December 2005. LOA-46 was the first time your payrates equaled ours; prior to that your company had created a labor arbitrage where your pilots worked for less in wages but "made it up" in growth. Your CEO sent a cautionary letter in December now that the rest of the industry is below you in wage rates and the arbitrage is no longer working.
Your contract is amendable in September, no? Maybe you guys can finally raise the bar for others to pull up on rather than what you've done throughout your history.

How did SWA rates compare with Delta Express rates?
How did SWA W-2's compare with DAL W-2s during your example timeframe?
Not punching holes in what you wrote, there is more to the story though.
