Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

USAPA hasn't been around long enough to have given the massive amounts of money to the One to warrant a bailout. Besides the poll numbers are decidedly against another bailout. You're on your own, boys! As are we...

LCC (it's their stock symbol) is USAir while UAUA is United.
acl65pilot: I'll grant you that they might have difficulties, but big airlines these days just don't fail. There always seems like someone will come along and prop a failing up, if only so the can continue to sell fuel, airplanes or regional flying to them (aka IAGblog: USAirways - will they or won't they? from 2005 )

The one thing that I do wonder is if when UAUA or LLC, or any of us need money and cannot find it in the credit market, is the government going to have the ability to borrow the money we need. I do not think so. IMHO they will not be able to find the 30 billion or so that the us airline market needs. After all of the other money we have spent, I am not to confident that anyone is going to want to write another check.
This is where I see Foreign ownership actually gaining a foot hold in our country. Us Deltoids better hope this TA with AF/KLM has some verbiage in the for that.

I do not disagree with your point. My statement was not my opinion, but what our leaders have said multiple times in multiple venues. I was just repeating it.

Hence, GM, the money was dished out without any regard to whether the company really had a shot of recovery. Compile on that a time-frame of 3 months to become viable, profitable, and stable, and you can see how out of touch many of our politicians are. Even the most basic, entry-level, inexperienced investor could see that this was a extremely poor choice to invest in.
Granted, as the disillusioning resentment of Americans greatens, it will become more and more difficult to find taxpayer financing for failing, sinking-ship companies, but I don't believe our government feels any need to justify its' actions to its' citizens.
The money will come in one form or another, whether it be another bloated stimulus plan or plain and simply a bailout.

I am not to sure. We will be cheaper than GM alone, but I am not sure if the politicians will want to burn their points on an airline. The American people are tired of bailing out the industry of the week.

Is anybody else having trouble getting on Deltanet this morning? I keep getting a weird message I've never seen before... "The number of concurrent sessions exceeds the limit for this group!" Who do we call on a weekend to get I.T. help?
#9117
Can't get on DeltaNet either... which means I can't check TravelNet or iCrew, which would be nice since I'm on reserve tomorrow!

I'm glad it's not just me, though. I'm on reserve, too. Does this mean I can go home? Gotta love the Delta I.T. department. They probably went home for the weekend, too.

Really don't know if I hate the new travelnet more or the latest POS from MSFT (IE8). Maybe its the combo that's killin me
