ALPA has no interest in making information readily available. The dirty little secret is that little prop/jet guys are about to be 50% +1 of ALPA membership, while DAL mainline pilots pay 23% of ALPA's national budget. DAL mainline is outsourcing their own jobs with their own union.
got scope? shows the frustration and the lengths to which the junior pilots at ALL the majors, ALPA or otherwise, are about to go to to get their message heard.
Good for them. Remember, RJs are self-limiting. High time doesn't effect staffing.
LoL.

If you voted yes, the problem is the guy in the mirror.

That was published on the NWA side in the Council 20 letter that went around. It referred to a South (lets call it what it is) Displacement Entitlement. In CVG they were saying July for a displacement bid.
I've just stopped asking the question. If it isn't good news, there is no point in it getting here any earlier than it has to.

Thats kind of a bummer for the CVG guys to go through a displacement bid before DTW is available to bid into. It'd suck if you hold 767 CVG and could hold it in DTW but now you have to go to 88 ATL or NYC. Seems like a training cost waste to do a MD, just deadhead them around.

I got you, crunch. It bothered me, I wish it could be more fair for them too.

Hey, guys! How do we price buddy passes on the "new and improved" Travelnet? I can't find the option anywhere!

For the former NWA guys, no, this is not the norm and it should get better. It was before. I guess the IT guys are scrambling to merge the two systems. I wouldn't want that job.

Two problems with covering the early morning NYC-LHR flight: First, there isn't one anymore. Second, all LHR flights are on the 767-400, which we can't fly.
As a Reserve on the 7ER in NYC, there aren't any flights in our bid package to cover - I guess it's in case other trips have a problem. The SC that start at 1200/1300 can't cover early morning trips because of Whitlow I guess.

But, like you and I said, they still need someone to cover domestic trips running trough NYC that may run into trouble. That's probably why they still have the 0500 short call.

Is the Travelnet normally a stable platform? Sometimes you are able to get on...other times not so much. Tried checking flights, had to logout and login 4 times to get it to work. The capacity is wrong on some of the aircraft, and just checked on a flight said the actual time it departed was 1810...while the current time was 1719? Hope this is not a sign of what will happen with other technology issues.
Like Buzzpat said, maybe they were focusing on getting it working and less on ascetics.
