You don't think that's possible tsquare, because you refuse to understand that the SWAPA contract provides us a tremendous leverage model for the NMB end game. But your blind hatred of SWA is so profound, you'd rather stick with this contract than admit the SWAPA contract is head and shoulders above ours.

When you make these kind of statements, you prove the point of our junior folks who say that senior pilots only care about their own pay and don't even know how to spell scope. Taking an extension for a 20% raise keeps one of the worst scope clauses in the airline industry. It keeps unacceptable levels of RJ's, unbalanced JV's and the "holding company" loophole that allows the current RAH scope violation.

I wish there was a way to get you interested in scope, and stop proving our junior pilots to be correct.

Right now we are nowhere near where we need to be.

How we perceive ourselves is what it's all about. If we have the attitude that we should accept less because someone else will do it cheaper is not the right attitude. Hundreds of people trust us to fly them in a multimillion dollar thin metal tube at 35,000 feet going 600mph over great distances every time we go to work. Stop and think about that. The level of trust and responsibility the public and our management places in our hands is not comparable to any other "trade." There are many other professions that pay more with much less responsibility.

The new flight time requirements are a great idea.

You sir, are off to a great start here.

THAT is why it is hard to compare that....

What about profit per pilot?

FedEx Express 2011 = $1.22 Billion (looks a lot like DAL) on a 5.2% operating margin. (DAL pulled out a margin in the 6-8% range).

So many metrics.... Lies, d@mn lies, and statistics.
All true shiznit. But wouldn't it be great if our bargaining agent communicated the metrics that advatage US the most? Instead, the DALPA communicators here only reference metrics that make us look higher paid and lower worked. Why is that?

I agree. I especially grow tired of the ALPA catch phrase describing their clear conflict of interest as a "perceived conflict of interest."

My CA and I did the exact same thing on my last trip. It works out much better for us doesn't it?

Yes it was. DALPA just can't say it.

I know! Few pages back on this thread, we got compared to US Airways!! That's one hell of a model airline. Never mind Southwest, Fedex, UPS etc...

I want to see both the company's and DALPA'S openers.

Oh, do tell then sailing. What was reflected in the surveys? DPA has released their survey results. Looks like 35-40% is pretty accurate.
