Guaranteed more large widebodies... we are on the giving and they are taking. But those without backbones at ALPA are happy to let the company continue capacity restraint while AF continues to flood in more seats.

The AF Cargo 747 cargo jet in to ATL is just over joyous. Is that part of bundle 1?

Exactly... that's a total slap in the face and we have alfa coming on here telling us how wrong we are. Freaking ridiculous.

Since ALPA speaks for me, I sure would like them to actually speak up!

Right....

That's why Jim Graham's latest letter to the pilot group has "it's all good news" in the closing paragraph. Doom AND gloom...

Silence is speaking up.

IMO, the slot swap letter writing campaign result was the end of constructive engagement. Even DALPA admitted they were duped.

Fool me twice and all that.

Dead on!

The other employee groups frequently invoke a "me too" clause. It doesn't cost them anything.
As you mentioned above, if the company doesn't offer early outs for pilots, they are showing their hand. Are we overstaffed or not.

If we're overstaffed surely the company would offer early-outs to the top tier front line employees, that's just simple business 101.
If the company chooses to not offer the package but does displace from the senior most equipment then that's a clear sign for setting the stage for negotiations.

Not offering early-outs for pilots and displacing is a sign the company has stopped constructive efforts and is building a negotiating position of contract talks. I would hope my representatives will change their course accordingly.

Cheers
George
Excellent post -- likely the company will have to offer pilots the medical option as part of 'me too'. Does likely show a lack of overstaffing and concern about future staffing.

Let me show you some pictures to provide some "color":

Delta is half of the JV and makes cuts of 11%
Total JV cuts add up to 8%

50% of 5% = 2.5%
50% of 11% = 5.5%

Total cuts = 2.5% +5.5% = 8%
That means the AFKLM/AZ capacity reduction is less than half the size of the hit Delta took.

here's what makes it worse:
One A380 = 2.5 7ERs

That's great when we are adding flights, terrible when we are cutting...
Because we cut 5 flights for every two flights they cut.

Now lets add it all up:

To get the same percentage cut we need to cut 2.5 times the flights of AFKLM/AZ. On top of that, Delta is making twice the capacity cuts compared to AFKLM/AZ.

That's the state of our production balance and why we are displacing off of WB international jets. BTW the seat mods account for 2 aircraft a month, not a significant factor at all in terms of total impact on reductions. And side we can't control AFKLM/AZ there is nothing we can do!

Unsat!

Cheers

Now that we have cut capacity, our non-fuel CASM has gone up.
(Obviously if there are fewer ASMS and the same fixed cost then CASM goes up)

Here is what we are being asked to do:
We should take a hit in pay and seniority progression so stockholders can get a 10% return.

Cheers
George

So, what's everyone going to do about it?

I see a lot of ruffled feathers, and lots of jawboning.

What I don't see are any special LEC meetings with recalls on the agenda. All I see is business as usual.

Yawn. Just what they want. If you are arguing amongst yourselves here, you aren't picking up the phone to your rep or organizing a group to really do anything about it.

You guys remind me of the cats you all seem to hate so much. Try to look all bad-ass by puffing up and yowling, but easily distracted by a shiny bauble and then begging for a pet.

Weak sauce.
