I've posted on this thread before, but just want to again lend some support to what the other CPZ guys have said.
I would be in favor of a staple even if it meant a furlough. It would likely be beneficial to our individual careers and, more importantly recapture and protect some of the scope erosion that is hurting the careers of ALL airline pilots.
I am also in favor of maintaining the current representational structure under the Delta MEC. It's probably not the ideal arrangement, but it provides significantly more resources to our very small pilot group. It also keeps our pilot groups aligned and working towards a collective good.

This was on the DeltaNet:
Under terms of the deal announced Monday, Frontier will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Republic Airways Holdings after the company serves as the equity sponsor for Frontier’s reorganization plan and buys 100% of the equity in the reorganized company. The cost to Republic will be nearly $109 million. The deal would require a court-supervised auction, at which another buyer could outbid Republic.
How much cash does Delta have? Very Interesting!!!

It doesn't without other contractual modifications to which management would have to agree (at a minimum reducing the cap of permitted 70-76 seat jets and total number of 76 seat jets).
Otherwise, all that would result is adding pilots to the seniority list without adding protected (scoped) flying. That justs creates potential hostages and allows the bottom of our current list AND the Compass pilots to be whipsawed against other small lift providers much more effectively.

My guess would be that mama DAL is saving her pennies for the ALK bidding war...but be that as it may...
It has been an under-the-table goal of RAs marketing team that EVERYTHING smaller than a 757 is to be outsourced to the lowest bidder. Even the domestic 757 would be pared back to a dozen or so core markets. In essence, it would look like the 1982 version of Northwest Orient, where the smallest thing was a 727, and then only a handful, feeding the whales (and we remember how well that worked for PanAM).
EVERYTHING else would be outsourced. EVERYTHING...that includes DC-9s, MD-80s, A319/320s and most 757 flying. I've had people try to convince me that this is a good thing, which is suspiciously along the lines of the current MECs direction.
The RAH+Frontier+Midwest combination may just be the first shot in this salvo (um, hello? 717ss and A320s!). Having ALPA lawyers at the 44 meeting say they can't do anything about this and that a MEH codeshare is already in place is chilling.
Even if we got rid DALPA now, the damage may already be done.

Taking a line from "Land of the Lost," do you ever get tired of being wrong?
The latest fleet plan has large airplanes (74 and 76) being reduced, and on the south side the 737 and MD88 increased (remember they've got a goal of 40-50 MD-90's added). The same is true in the North for fleet mix. They're also rapidly parking 50 seat and smaller DCI RJ's and turboprops (how many DCI carriers are furloughing pilots?) And where'd you get the piece about ALPA lawyers at a meeting? There hasn't been a single report of that, only that the negotiators said that RAH's move on Frontier as it's currently structured wouldn't violate our scope.

If they merge the Frontier seniority list with all their RJ operators, does that violate scope?

Yup, and those same negotiators were the ones that were AGAINST releasing the scope data to the pilot group. I'm pretty happy that they got owned at the meeting. And since the resolution was directed solely towards the LEC, there's no squirming out of it by "tabling" it.
Hmmm, any guesses on who Slowplay is? Scrappy? Buzz?
In any event, a little bird tells me that someone shouldn't dis NWA guys in front of another airline's group of pilots in Herndon...someone always knows someone else, and it will get back to them. It really makes you look like a twink.

SCOPE LANGUAGE:
2. If a domestic air carrier operates both permitted aircraft types and aircraft other than permitted aircraft types, the exemption for that domestic air carrier provided by
Section 1 D. 1.
The next question will be how will the major carriers respond to one of their feeders attempting to go head to head with them utilizing their own money.

Dissing goes both ways, too. Comments about "owned", "Supreme Leader" and "top down" don't do too much to help our pilot group, even though they might "feel" good to those that babble them.
Hey, if you can balance a chemical equation you ought to be able to figure out the reaction that will result from this type of exchange...
