Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

I am concerned we at Compass don't have much backing from the Delta MEC. Even though we are in the same MEC/LEC, there seems to be a uneasy feeling amongst the Compass clan that Delta's MEC will sell us out. I hope i am wrong but the meetings we have been too seem to indicate that the Delta MEC doesn't much care for us. I have talked to a few union reps and the sympathy from the NWA vs. Delta reps is like night and day.
We want you in, let me rephraze, a lot of us want you to at the least stay on our MEC and soon to be on the same seniority list.
...
If DAL came to the union and said "hey, we want you to have 76 seaters so we can XYZ", please someone reassure me they wouldn't say "no. our guys don't want to fly small jets."

Superdad:
ACL65:
Hard to day trade while in the sim, but yes I bought RJET on Thursday and sold today while the LCA was pointing at the HGS explaining something to the Captain. Then I did a single engine missed while trying to figure out how much I made on the deal..

I am a Compass pilot as well. I also was hired prior to NWA hiring and the same applies to the first 80 plus pilots at Compass. I sat in the interview with a NWA HR specialist and NWA pilots and was told that the only way to NWA was thru Compass. Obviously, things changed, I can tell you that there are junior NWA pilots who wanted to get on at Compass but didn't meet the experience level of the first 80 plus Compass people and could NOT get the interview. I have 3 friends from my old airline that wanted help getting a Compass interview. Unfortunatley at the time everything was based on a computer score and those with the highest qualifications got called first. Lucky for them they didn't get the call because now they have a mainline number. Now these same pilots may get there shot at Compass after all... It's a crap sandwich but not the end of the world.
I truely believe that virtually all compass pilots understand and embrace the plight of our Delta brothers and sisters. Every refugee at compass has seen there career asperiations deterated by the continuing outsourcing of mainline jobs for less paying regional jobs with little or no job security. Nobody wants to get furloughed but i believe in my heart that it would be embraced by Compass pilots if we were assured of having a chair at the dinner table. I have been at 3 regionals now and a Captain at two i am tired of having to worry that my job will be put out for a R.F.P and go to the lowest bidder. It would be nice if Mainline pilots would fight to maintain the flow thru as well as attempt to protect us. We stand united with the mainline pilots even if that means being furloughed, however we want to be assured that we are protected by our big brother. Our Contract has language that assures a flow thru but so did eagle.

Lee Moak has stated that Delta pilots benefit by keeping Compass separate and their low rates (mostly due to longevity) help keep costs (pilot pay) in line at the regionals, which helps Delta, this helping Delta pilots.
I'm a CPZ Capt you can add to the ranks of support for this cause. My experience basically mirrors exactly the last couple CPZ guys. This is my 3rd airline represented by ALPA, and we've been sold out by ALPA national at each one. So the above quote doesn't shock me! Pilot Union = oxymoron!! Its pretty unethical for a union to exploit the majority of their regional and junior mainline pilots to subsidize the top 10% of the seniority list. The actions from some of our union leaders are no different than the shameful CEO's we've been dealing w/ for the last 8 yrs!

Compass guy weighing in per the invitation:
I would like to stay part of the DALPA MEC but I'd prefer to get a little representation now and then. The big thing to consider is that if flowback occurs, you (Delta Pilots) want to be part of DALPA, too.
I'd like to add, if you want my plane back to your company, I'll take a furlough to help it happen. Just please put me at the bottom of your seniority list in exchange.

To all the guys who told me I was wrong when I said we MUST remove ALPA and install an in-house union - one question:
Ready now??
Carl
Ready now??

I think the same argument was made for a B-Scale.

I am ready for a change. What does an in-house give us that we can't get thru ALPA witht the right people in office?

New union means all new candidates, and a corruption free line of communication. Not to mention the efficiency gained by a union that is just interested in Delta pilots - not dining with Washington DC elite. (And giving the elite their resumes).
