Contract extension means one thing only...Merger. It doesn't mean wait and see how the industry shells out. However, it can be explained away that way.

ACL? Sailing? Gloopy?

DALPA has repeatedly and emphatically denied that an extension is in the works (or even possible). If they've been lying, it will be the end of ALPA at Delta. And the end of ALPA (thank goodness).

Really pi$$e$ me off to see the company wasting our profit sharing cash on programs like this. P.S. DEADHEAD, COMMUTER HOTELS, PER DIEM AND PAY to "fly with your buddy" They create an extra position so the FA's can have a 3 day Istanbul layover with their pals.

Internal memo deleted... Search DL Net for "fly with your friends" for details

No idea, but it makes sense given that RA said that consolidation is not over and that Delta would be a player.

Thinking out loud here and there is no info, just my random thoughts at the question posed.

Large Displacement on a 365 bid (Last one was 2011's 365 bid) Allows almost all of the training to be done after the summer season.

Pilots bummed at all of the cuts and further capacity reduction. Manages expectations down.

Extension or modification offered, and we take it given the fact that AMR is in CH11 and any gains are better than none. (Blah blah)

It passes.

New bid comes out with many reinstatements(never go to training) or an acquisition is announced after we have agreed to an agreement of some sort.

Could be totally off base, but a displacement bid right before the openers just seems typical to me. Now if they offer early outs for pilots (no rumors of one coming btw) that means that the latest LOA with a 12 month new hire training freeze makes economic sense for them to trim from the top and hire in to the bottom later this year.

Just random thoughts guys and gals, nothing official or rumored. I mean that.

On a side note, the push back that AMR is getting from the PBGC pushes out any sort of end game wrt to an asset purchase or an acquisition from anyone, not just DAL. Everyone will want to see how that plays out.

Fly, I assume that is an internal memo. If so, delete it or I can.
