That would make sense at first glance, but the fact is that they need to cost out guys coming back in through the bottom of CPS as they start to recall. Plus, I see it very unlikely that you will see 1000 furloughs.
Give away more scope and 76 seat flying, maybe.
In that case you may see a J4J deal with the sale of compass. I sure hope not, but you never know.
Best case would be Compass here, restrictions on the remaining 76 seat flying and a nice order of larger E jets. It makes sense for the company, and would be great furlough mitigation.
Once can always wish

The agreement allows CPZ to be sold and the flow thru would still remain. The only time the flow can be stopped is if CPZ is sold and they no longer fly under the Delta banner.

What's funny is that we have two non furlough agreements and NO ONE believes they are enforceabe.
Our ALPA negotiators should learn rule number one in negotiations:
Only negotiate for things that have value.
If I'm not mistaken, what we have is an agreement that the company will not furlough, unless the economy is bad. When the only time the company would want to furlough is when the economy is bad.
Priceless and worthless at the same time.

With that said, i personally think the regionals are going to feel the brunt of all of this just as mgmt has been saying. they want to pull down the regional flying as much as possible so we'll see how the cards fall. i'm personally optimistic but realize that anything could happen. If it does, then there are worse things that could happen.

i talked with a union rep the other day that was certain that the no furlough clauses and triggers would hold up. He said on top of that most people have no idea how ridiculously expensive it would be to the company to furlough. Combine that with the fact the company has been trying very hard to keep morale up and follow through with all the promises they have made to the government about layoffs, you have alot of things pointing to no f-bomb.

Super, no they didn't. They won and I sat out for 6 years. I was recalled and happily so but Bloch upheld DAL's furlough based on FM. The way I was treated by DAL during the furlough was exemplary but it was a furlough nonetheless.

Well, that is good news. I am all for putting the company on notice that we will litigate to enforce the no furlough clauses. Otherwise what did we negotiate them for?
