I know, I'd recommend Boomer. Problem is, they'd say what's his name? Don't know. But I think he should be hired.

Seems like they are starting to load the guns with 00 buckshot. "We just can't pay you guys more. You really don't even want us to pay you more. It would kill the profitability of the company! Please remember number 5 when you see the TA.
I listened to the earnings conference call, it followed the same outline.

BTW, the Super Bowl should be a national holiday. That way we can say "Happy Super Bowl" as we see people all weekend. And thank you NFL for whatever it is that makes the SB's so much more interesting than they used to be. None of this 52-10 stuff anymore. Ever since Carolina and New England went at it the SB's have been much more close than they used to be.

But the exciting part will be when they play the Super Bowl outside in NJ in 2014.

The best part was Bono had the American flag stitched into his armpit and after the performance he pulled his jacket open to show us how much he loves us.

So to recap, in the last decade we've had U2, Prince, Paul McCartney, Sting, Janet Jackson (I missed that show but I bet it's on Youtube), Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, The Stones, The Who, and Madonna.

Perhaps the halftime show is sponsored by AARP? Then again maybe not, since most of those old fogeys are British. So that would make it BARP.

Smart money says next year's Halftime show will either be Talking Heads, B-52s, the Bangles, Cool and the Gang, or Iggy Popp.

And as a special treat to cater to the under-30 crowd, they'll open up with Thomas Dolby, MC Hammer, and Barney.

Agreed. And on the profitability...

I think it's important to remember that working for a profitable company does not necessarily translate to a profitable career for the pilots. It does better the chances of our company staying in business, I guess. But if all those profits are gained on the backs of the employees while the airline shrinks and outsources, the small increase in profit sharing (a few thousand dollar difference between a bad year and a good one) does almost nothing to counter years of working under a sub-standard contract. And that is their goal - to pay industry STANDARD wages. Not industry LEADING - they said it themselves.

80's super bowl verdict-

Commercials blew except for the doritos one with the dog and the one where the guy got the email in his car and immediately back out of the driveway.

Halftime show was boring as crap. Madonna when she actually was singing had a very heavily processed voice- and she looked like she was about to fall asleep. Definitely acted every bit of 60 years old or however old she is.

Great football game! I didn't really care who won, but one of the guys at the party is a HUGE giants fan so it was great fun watching him. All I wanted was a nice close ballgame and I came out happy.

All in all- it's a ball game after all and we got a good one, so who cares about the junky commercials and horrible halftime show. That's what it's all about- supposedly.
