With the next bid barely a month away, remember what happens when you fly an Airbus:

Just say "oui oui" to not bidding Fifi! (unless your seniority is below say, 10700)

Steve-o was the easy favorite. Those guys are going to be in a lot of pain as they age.

To get there, I had to change airlines a number of times and move towns an equal amount. You have stayed at the same sinking ship for ten years and done nothing to fix your situation. Can't figure out for the life of me why you stay. Does not compute. Help me out. Why would you stay right seat at ComAir for 10 years?

I'm not trying to be mean but you need a kick in the a$$. Move on already. Damn.
Glad it worked out for you. I think I was a little junior to Boomer, but my class at Comair was mostly military guys or furloughed USAir/Midway. It sure looked good on paper at the time. Comair was my sim partner's 3rd regional. A USAF guy in my class was 3 days from his check ride at AA on 9/11, but it really sucked for the 3 guys in his class that'd left SWA for AA. (Granted, AA guys were leaving for UAL at the time) He always thought AA would eventually recall him. Just passed his check ride at GoJets.

It started out great. Best contract/most growth of the regionals I'd looked at. Certainly nothing I'd read accurately captured the relationship between CMR-DAL. I was new to the airlines and it took a while to see what was really going on. On reserve a couple of months, then started flying up the seniority list. First upgrade award came in a reasonable amount of time, but then it was cancelled. As was the 2nd, and the 3rd. Hard to leave when you're a dozen numbers away from upgrade. 4th time was the charm, but I only lasted 6 months in the left seat, after airplanes bought for us were given away. Tried to actively leave the minute I downgraded (end of '08), but decided not to risk it all with another regional.

After the big announcement in Sept. 2010, I got hired by Compass within a couple of weeks. Wouldn't have made the flow through list, but thought turnover would mean upgrade in a few years. I decided it was still too risky and backed out. With the hiring stagnation, I'm glad I did. Talked to DAL at a job fair in Nov. 2010 and was encouraged to get more PIC to make me more competitive, suggested I go to Compass or ASA. I agree I need more PIC, but those ships have sailed. Never heard from JetBlue, but that was okay - I don't see much potential for upgrade there. Wasn't that into Spirit or Allegiant. Figured USAir would be like being at a regional with the potential for upgrade in under 10 years, but they called after I moved on. Ended up sending a resume on a lark to an ACMI carrier. I like the spontaneity of their flying, and I could use a break from domestic pax ops. It sure looks good on paper.

Default MD90s

Hey Gang,

The weekly update for jan 6th talked about getting 21 MD90s over the course of the year. Something like half before summer and then half over summer/fall.
The march crew resources update sounds like we'll be getting 8 more on top of that... Is that what you guys read? I hope we didn't suddenly go from 20 more MD90s to 8. Is flight ops hiding some 90s from crew resources or what

"As we look to 2013, the current plan is for eight more M90’s to enter service with 737-900 deliveries beginning
in summer 2013. In order to be adequately staffed for their arrival, we may need to remove some of the
surpluses we currently have on the 747, 777, 765 and 767 on the March AE. While a decision has not been
finalized, our current staffing levels will need to be adjusted to meet the demands from these deliveries."
from the march update

On the November AE, we added 25 MD-88 Captains and 32 MD-88 First Officers system wide. Although there may appear to be a surplus now, get ready because the Mad Dog’s hours are scheduled to be flat year-over-year for January and then increase by 7% in February, 9% in March and 10% in April. The remainder of the year will see double digit year-over-year growth, with 20+% growth currently scheduled for the months of the fourth quarter. This is primarily driven by the increase in the number of MD90’s. This month we have 29 aircraft, which increases to 41 in June and 50 in December.

My understanding is that it's 20 this year and another 8 in 2013, Kargo.

Just curious, for those of you with brokerage link accounts, do you have an account set up for both the DC and DPSP, or just one?

You need to set up two. Same paperwork, just a different name for each plan.
