Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Also, more school house rumors to start from DGS guy.
1.) DAL will park a few 744's. Demand not there = less capacity
2.) DAL to sell a few 767-300's(DOM).
3.) Why do the dentures cost so much??

If you were a reservist, then it was obvious by 10am on September 11th there would be a job option for you.
This time around in 2009, if you're a pilot about to retire and thinking about whats next, it kind of sucks. The economy is off roading in a fog and nobody knows if its about to go off a cliff or make it back to the road yet.
The stock market cut itself in half, interest rates will probably climb making it hard for you to borrow to start a business or for a customer to borrow to buy from you, if things turn around what will happen to the dollar, oil, inflation and interest rates? And remember your friend(s) that started businesses, they're bankrupt and they're houses were foreclosed on, kind of a red flag.
And not sure if the military flying is out there for a fuloughed reservist, maybe it is and maybe it isn't but its sure not 9/12. But maybe its still good, for the sake of a reservist airline pilot who gets furloughed I hope you can find your way back.
All that to say, if you have a retirement already coming (i.e. military), if you've saved on your own, if everything is paid off, if you were going to leave in 2009 or 2010 anyways and don't mind getting not working for 9 months and getting paid through I guess mid 2010, you really don't want to downgrade to crappy XYZ base and/or jet for who knows how long, and who knows if the company will offer another early out, then PERPS is not a bad deal.
Think not just about the 742 guys but the mid to late 50 year old guy who finally got to 767 A after 18 years getting knocked down to the 88 with rumors more 767 cuts to come. I wonder if some just aren't interested in doing this anymore.

A new all plastic Boeing 777 replacement... earlier in the week it was going to get a new wing, now its a new plane, soon it'll look like whatever the A350 ends up looking like:
777 Replacement May Be All New Model | AVIATION WEEK

Ok all, 2 Free Bird's now
One of us was furloughed and never made statements on the last 2 previous pages.
Maybe I should change my username to the pilot previously known as Free Bird.

Didn't know the reserve option was on the table. Then yes, if you get furloughed, take it. It would be better. I misunderstood your intention.

[QUOTE=RockyBoy;631401I've talked to some of their Captains and they say they almost always get 11 days off and virtually all uncommutable trips. The last guy I talked to said he was in his own bed 3 nights last month. If you live in MSP, DTW, or MEM then it may be tempting, but commuting to that would really suck. [/QUOTE]
Remember, this info is coming from someone that is worried about being bumped back to FO (probably never been an FO at CPS) or worse yet, on the street. What kind of a story would you tell?
