lol no not missing any zeros. However i just flew with a union guy who said this round of perps wasnt about staffing but about training costs. He said this was a zero cost to the company because the money was going to be spent regardless so they figured why not offer that cost to the pilots to knock out 2 birds with one stone. tifwiw

Is the deadline 15 Jul?? Not that we won't be losing some great guys or that I wish them, personally, to leave. I'd just like to see them be able to enjoy the good life a little - hate to see anyone work longer than they need to.

Oh who am I kidding - I just don't want to get furloughed

Commuting is a choice.

So is living in domicile. So if you have to work because a commuter couldn't get in, deal with it.

Question about the Mesaba and Compass flowback....

If furloughed are you offered either? Also does Mesaba place you at the top of the seniority list as does Compass? I know Compass you could flush right down to FO, but with the limited seats available at Mesaba, can you be pushed out by more furloughs?

theres only like 13ish slots available at mesaba but as i understand it the most senior furlough would have the choice of mesaba or compass at the top. Lets hope we dont have to find out first hand on how it works

You many not. Super, I hope that if we to furlough it is no more than a few 100. I have to say, the 2010 picture is not too Rosy.
We are giving ticket away. The only way to solve that is capacity cuts.
IMHO they are rewriting the flight plan and fleet plan. We will see how all of it plays out.

40 is the number of PERPS submitted thus far.

If you take the flowback at compass and bump all the way down to FO eventually, can you resign from compass without killing your recall at Delta? It just seems that Compass has a risk with it as far as a garunteed pay drop followed by a drastic one. I debate if the CA pay there is even worth it.... being on FO pay there would not be worth it at all.

And making that statement fulfills every argument that DALPA has about brining that jet on the property.
Like the pay or not, we need that jet here. Words like these do not help.

Fact is that fourth year FO pay is better than you will find at almost any other job in aviation right now. Why? There are no jobs out there. This is going to be what you get if you have a desire to fly while on furlough from DAL.
It is a lot better than what my buddies at CAL are getting. Unemployment has run out and guess what, still no job. These are people with 8K hrs and 6K PIC 121. Great resumes, that have gone to find jobs in Wal-mart etc. You would be given a job, which is better than most furloughees get.
Thank the NWA brethren if you have the unfortunate chance to work at CPS, a job that they made sure was there for the mainline pilots furloughed from the mainline.
Yes it needs to improve, but it is better than nothing.
