Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I did not take it that way. One does not deal with the other. SLC could still operate as an O and D hub with a Texas hub doing other work. Same for MSP. SLC is OK wrt to being a connecting hub, and is one of the most expensive in the country.
The cash that the airlines are putting forth appears minimal, and the finished result is a long way off. The design phase has not really started yet.

A NW mask? Didn't it hinder the flying? Were you allowed to remove it for landing?

I understand you're point.
It just seems like there are two types who want a Texas hub and speak as those it's in the works or our near future:
1) those who commute to work from Texas and
2) those who live in Atlanta and think the West cost is a small market.
Makes me laugh. Texans and southerners are all the same, they are sure they live in the greatest place in the world.

World Bank warns countries to prepare for a global slump ? USATODAY.com
This pretend recovery by printed money will peter out soon enough and its going to get rough for a while everywhere, especially international. Now is not the time to be embarking on "international hub growth" plans or any such thing for a market like SLC. The current facilities are fine for what we use them for and at best we should take a "wait and see" attitude towards arbitrary "fortress hubs". I like SLC and very much hope we keep it but now is not the time to be dumping money into something like this.
This is frivolous spending that will cause a mini stimulus in SLC initially followed by broader economic suffering even if DL doesn't "pull out" as an arbitratry connection hub. They will look at this one day as an investiment about as wise as the STL and CVG "runways to nowhere" based on fanatasy growth numbers and a mad dash to reach V1 on the financing to kick start someone's pet project/jobs program.

We who lived in New Hampshire KNOW that is actually the 'greatest place in the world' but we are smart enough to keep our mouths shut!

I know that was true several years ago, but as I recall Delta went to the SLC Department Of Airports and complained about the high costs. With the stroke of a pen they cut the airport fees substantially, as they very much want Delta here.
From what I understand lately, Delta is frustrated by the FAA air traffic controller on-the-job training programs in Salt Lake. While I love flying out west, the SLC controllers are, in my opinion, the worst in the country (not sugar-coating it).

My favorite 3 cities to date are BNA, DEN and IAD area. BNA is what the south is supposed to be, DEN is just awesome and IAD is my kind of climate. It has seasons. I miss seasons. Gawga is okay but I don't understand the hub bub about ITP, give me a break, it's Dekalb and Fulton county, enough said.
And you Peachtree City people...
I've never been but I picture this:
"my husband is on the ER, a Captain, not a copilot. He is senior, got a 9 day greenslip... your husband isn't still on the 737 Mary Belle is he?"
I will say I got to spend a lot of time in Vegas. For you single guys, I think the ratio is in your favor there.
