So is this what we have to go to? More of a 40's style?

That's fine. I don't think anyone here will lose anything. APC will be the lesser for it. JMO.
I read it all, and I understand the displeasure... and I agree. Normally it would have been a reminder for the one that started the digression and simple deletions for resulting posts (yes, yours would have been gone, too ). Things roll downhill. It's an internet web board and that's what happens.

I've explained in similar words on the mods forum and hopefully my words take root in regards to our little corner seat in the Saipan bar here.

We aren't exempt from the overall rules of APC here... a good balance of keeping it at least in the shadow of the rules has been in place and I think can be continued to be found.

As far as the pictures, it seems as though the "prime time TV" acceptable is the standard.... so yeah, that.

Boobs.

That is all.

I suggest you forward this little tiff (I've been in school and obviously missed the action cuz I haven't been flagged.....yet) up the chain. Ban a few of us and this thread comes to a stop and so does the ad money.

I'll be as plain as I can. If this isn't a place I can come and enjoy the friendships I'm outta here, and I'll encourage as many others as I can to do the same.

Ferd,
Got to agree! I think the board regulates it self, and if someone does not like the content we can ignore...or pass it on. I enjoy coming here, however..can move elsewhere. Do I agree with all of the discussions, no...but it is a discussion.

I'm pretty sure I was the one that took it off the rail Sat. I knew it was borderline at best but couldn't allow the other comment to go unchallenged. I think UAL's idea that we talk about policies is good and leave the individuals out of it.

As I said yesterday, what happens in the Nation's capitol affects us all. As long as we agree to keep it non-party and not person specific, I think it will all work out.

I think the initial order was for about 20 something, with I think all at CMR and ASA (wholly owned) but in any case, eating the leases that you're paying 100% anyway on 20 airframes would have been a zero cost item. There is this notion that if we roll back scope abuses that we will be stuck with trillion dollar penalties and that's simply not true. We're stuck with the leases that we're paying for anyway. That's the overwhelming vast majority of the "penalties" we would have to pay...what we're paying anyway.

Not only that, but there is a wide latitude of what could be considered "political" that is still relevant to airlines and the L&G@D. Budgets, monetary policy, security, FAA reauthorization, FTDT rules, cabotage, the EU's unilateral carbon tax, the politics of Boeing and the Import/Export Bank and many others all play a role. Anything to do with military actions also plays a role WRT CRAF, guys on mil leave leaving or returning, and the general budget, spending, etc which effects the whole ball of wax anyway.

OTOH long threads either way about abortion or eroding civil liberties or civil unions or abuses of Imminent Domain or many other topics would more clearly be considered thread drift (or even forum drift). But there is still a lot of "politics" that directly effects us all and its kind of hard to sanitize that no matter how well intentioned.

Underboob.
