I went to a new dentist in Florida for a cleaning. He started by doing an x-ray, but not a normal x-ray. It was a thorough one. A separate picture for just about every tooth. He then proceeded to tell me that I grind my teeth and he wanted to sell me a $500 mouth guard to wear in my sleep. He said it would save me thousands later in life. I said, "no thanks, are you going to clean my teeth?" He said the dental hygienist wasn't in. I would have to make a separate appointment. I left and never went back. Went to a dentist 6 months later that was recommended to me. The x-rays were taken in about 5 minutes, then they cleaned my teeth. I was in and out in about 40 minutes. I ended up getting about $90 worth of bills from that x-ray session. Still ****es me off.
I read about the Crew Resources update here several hours BEFORE it arrived in my email. I hope you don't so easily jump to conclusions when evaluating all your prospective "business ventures."

Displacement at Delta
If a pilot is displaced from a base even though he could hold different equipment in that base, is he still entitled to a paid move? For example, a MSP DC9 pilot is displaced to ATL (through MD bid) even though the MSP DC9 pilot could have displaced to other equipment at MSP?
How long do you have to move after displacement? Tried reading Sec 6. It references 12 months but others are telling me 24 months? Which is it?

Thank you. I only signed up for that like several years ago when it first came out.

I had implants last year with the Delta Dental plan that DAL offers. They balked when the periodontist filed the claim for the implants themselves, apparently because the office didn't file an advance estimate letter. Dentist's office absorbed most of that lost coverage but I paid 50%, which is the standard coverage for implants. The "teeth" were put on later and Delta Dental covered the standard 50%. I think the key is the advance letter BEFORE you have the work done.
I didn't know you could get implants with... uh.. oh.... You were talking about teeth.
nevermind.
Well then... that's all that matters, right?
I got mine at 10:55AM EST. iaflyer posted about it here at 8:45AM EST... 2 hours and 10 minutes prior to when I received it and about 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to when you received it. Not that any of that really matters. But you got to make your point about being so on the ball and signing up for the company emails. Who would have ever thought that a slacker like me would have thought to sign up too?! You're just so sharp, ACL. A legend in your own mind. Someday I hope I can be like you.

Heyas,
Agree with FtB and Hockey. Finding a trustworthy dentist is about as hard as finding any other trustworthy trades these days.
My last dentist was a franchise deal. They absolutely had zero respect for your time. You'd make an appointment for 3pm, and it'd be 4:15 before you'd sit in the chair.
I picked my current dentist purely by the fact that I drove past his office (it's 3 minutes from my house). I've had zero dental problems in my life...not even a cavity, and on the 2nd visit, this guy lays on me that I suddenly need 4k in work done. Ya, right. I tell him to forget it, and just have the hygenist clean my teeth, and I'll let you know if anything hurts.
I stuck with the office because it's close to my house, and if I make a 3pm appointment, I'm in the chair at 3pm. Once I told him I wasn't interested in the work, he let it go, and hasn't hassled me about it since. The insurance is a non-issue, and is handled without any grief. I do go for an extra cleaning a year, which is out of pocket, but it more than makes up for it with less time in the chair on the other two visits. I also pay a few extra bucks for fluoride treatments since I'm drinking less tap water.
So far, so good. 40-ish and still no cavities. (knock on wood).
