However- they had that airplane pitched up to 18 degrees at FL370. The senior FO deep stalled the crap out of that airplane and held it in it. All instruments were back to functioning normally the last 15,000 feet or so of their descent. Only when they were descending through 2000 feet at 40 degrees of AOA and below 100 knots of indicated airspeed did the captain recognize that the FO was holding full back stick the whole time. He let go and they started to recover, but it was too late and they pancaked in at almost 10,000 feet per minute.

Not that it matters when you're talking about numbers this big, but it was the flight path angle that was negative 40 degrees. Add an 18 degree positive pitch attitude to that, and the AOA was 58 degrees. The airframe vibration from that deep of a stall must have been absolutely terrifying for those poor passengers. Unreal.

All CVG ever did was ***** about Delta. They also tried on several occasions to heavily tax jet fuel. Delta beat those tax grabs back by stating they would down size and move the flying and Ohio backed down. Every year it seemed they commissioned a study to put Delta in a bad light. I have no doubt that when decisions were being made in the GO about the future of post merger hubs the Ohio studies, general *****ing and tax grabs were not forgotten.

They consider it an insult because work is so revered in Japan. The fact that you would come to their establishment is considered an honor for them. Tipping can come off as you thinking they don't make enough money or that their business needs a little extra help. They charge what they think is a fair price for everything. I actually wish we could adopt that in the US, because I personally hate tipping. Just charge me what the dinner costs you to make plus a nice profit, and show me where to sign the check! After I get my frickin reading glasses on that is...

I completely agree! Has anyone else noticed that nearly everyone expects a tip these days. I just took my kids to get some ice cream the other day and I noticed a tip jar in front of the register. Why the hell would I tip you for selling me ice cream! I have even seen a tip jar at some fast food restaurants.
