2nd question..the slot swap fetched a pretty penny..Does Delta and US Airways get this $$ or does the gov't?
DAL and LCC get the money.

On the command time, maybe. In a two man op, the Capt always signs for the jet and that is what many of these Asian carriers see as PIC time. For a three man op, you probably could get away with it for the two hrs that the Capt is no rest, but not when he is occupying his seat. Of course SIC all of the time

No, they do and have for some time. It was pilots that interviewed with the 737 type, and no time in it, who said they had no interest in SWA that made them scratch their heads.

Does that pass muster with your own hiring board? If so, great - I can log all my legs after my downgrade as PIC - but I'm thinking they don't see it that way.

Any idea what the finally breakdown will come to?

I figure LCC will get more money since they divested more slots, but I've been curious if we were entitled to the proceeds from the auction, and if so, how much money would we get.

Ok. That's good to know. Good thing I'm a morning person.

WTH would I care about JB? And I'm not worried about it. Guess the didn't convey that I was being sarcastic.

There is more in the contract about white slipping etc. if you are a regular line holder while in training but you get the gist with the above....if you are in training for the entire month, you should get a minimum of the ALV.

Thanks Denny,
I guess it doesn't matter if I bid for Jan in old equipment then...(I start Jan 1). I'll probably get a rsv line anyways.

this reserve gig isnt too bad, all the line holders are picking up all the open time. I guess with lower line values these guys just pick up everything they can. I'm ok with them being strapped enough that they are willing to give up days off and allow me to stay home

You're correct - they don't. Not really sure many hiring boards would either. I think PIC = guy who signs the release. JMHO.

Sim instructors,

Does Delta use line pilots for sim instructors or do they hire off the street for the school house? I've looked on the Delta.com site and did not see a link for sim instructors.

Thanks,

Marty!!!
