If oil goes back to 100 bucks, we're going to have some really great fuel hedges.

You're hedge is only as good or bad when compared to the current price of oil.

It REALLY wouldn't. Even if they live next to the airport. The main reason would be to keep current but DAL is clearly not on the verge of going out of business so there are many non-flying jobs that would pay better for the amount of time away from home.

What's the story on unemployment benefits? Are they based on the state you're based in, where you actually pay state income taxes, or the mothership, GA?

Hope for the best, plan for the worst and all that.

I filed in the state that gave me the best benefits which happened to be where my employer is based. Google unemployment benefits by state and compare which is best for you. Good luck.

I realize things are constantly changing but they must have a pretty good idea of which aircraft they want where. The 330 (which im on) is doing more flying out of ATL and JFK than DTW now, so it seems obvious that this plane will be leaving DTW.

Thanks
From what has been published by the company, they can't/won't have a combined AE until post SOC. Who knows about aircraft shuffling announcements?

I'm just hoping to be around to see the fireworks.

Somehow I believe when you're doing it for $64/hr in the left seat you won't be having that much "fun"...

There is no contractual restriction in the JCBA or PWA on how or when AE, VD, or MD's will take place. The only legal restriction is we cannot do crossfleet revenue flying ahead of SOC.

The current arrangement was agreed to by the TWG. It can be changed by the TWG, and does not even require an LOA, or MEC approval. While a number of people scoffed at the idea, as it originally was only about the freighters - now that it's spread between groups, a pre SOC AE/VD/DM might make sense - award later this year for training post SOC and maximize the ability to have crews and airplanes in the right places much more quickly post SOC. Wait until SOC to do position bidding and you are up to 210 days out to get pilots where you need them.

Another potential nightmare is if SOC happened before ANC closed.

Yet the rumor floating around points to exactly that. Word has come down to accelerate SOC as much as possible. Apparently, the earlier problems have been fixed, and it's full steam ahead.

Watch out for iceburgs....

TRUE. Add CPZ workrules to the buzz kill which they've said leave a lot to be desired.

But let me rephrase because I posted in haste, it looks like a lot of fun to fly that jet. It'd be a heck of a lot more fun to go to work if CPZ was mainline, mainline rates, mainline rules, everyone is happy and nobody was knocked out of their seats.

We had a MEM 320 CA in the jumpseat the other day who said he is going to take the early out too. We both thanked him for doing so.
