Another thing on my wishlist is saying "one to go" instead of spelling out the stupid numbers on the altitude (no need for "two to go").

Efficiency and simplicity!

As a side note, After transitioning to the bus I can totally see why the fleet captains were assigned the way they were (747/777 and 737/A320). We really don't read the books the same way... there really needed to be the combined training program captains (which is what a fleet captain is) to help translate the training practices into a uniform system between the fleets that were not intermixing like the 757/767. Things are worded identically between the A320 manuals and the other fleets, but they do them "the north translation" because that is what they tend toward. They did the fleet captain assignments to transition the AQP program to where we all read it the same way, which takes time.

I'm laughing so hard watching this right now.

Pretty hard core.
Most cats have a metalic or ceramic honycomb material that is coated with the catalyst...platinum, palladium and/or rhodium.

Spot prices for 12/02/11

I have to say I liked that SNL skit a few years back with the older Val Kilmer as Iceman. Pretty Funny

As a 767 Captain, I know that the lack of the center hydraulic system will not cause the gear to have an extension problem. All for now.
Where the heck was maintenance in all of this? Wouldn't a mechanic instruct the crews to check that particular breaker when the alternate extension system wasn't working? Odd stuff. Looks like they messed up in the air and on the ground.

At DL mx is typically plenty of help. At previous lesser carriers where i worked, of which LOT is likely in a similar category, mx is more a satan in your ear than anything else. Everything must be double checked and any information given is possibly bad and only there to keep the operation moving.

"you're fine! keep on going!" and so on...

(for all you scope hounds, previous lesser carriers is one of our major feeders)

For you contract guru's out there. Started a carryover trip on 30 Nov. as a regular line holder. On reserve Dec. 1st. Rerouted with a domicile layover on Dec. 1st. I didn't think a reserve could be rerouted with a domicile layover. Crew scheds says I can do it because I started the trip as a regular line holder...... Thoughts? Calling ALPA tomorrow to check.

The wizards should be able to program the E-GPWS to say 1000 to go. The new avionics mod in the C-5 had this. We didn't have to say anything anymore the plane said it for us.

One of our A320 LCA (formerly NWA) did most of the actual F-14 flying, including the tower fly-by, for Topgun. Nice guy and doesn't talk about it much.
