Actually, to slightly correct db there; we got our schedule the second day of indoc. They know fairly quickly. In fact, if you are in an all ER class. I.E.- Dec 3rd...plan on having schedules for training very quickly.
For dudes and chicas coming up on the ER, you can plan on "E" periods (that means brief around 1130pm out of the sim around 4am) for sims and maybe even having to travel for sims. Our time in ATL is getting maxed out right now. Miami is an alternate sim site for us. Despite that, its a good time to be here.
As others have already stated, the AE will sort a great deal out. Who knows, the Dec 3rd class COULD all end up being 88's after the AE is posted. Not likely, but you never know.

So did the AE get posted today? If it did is there anything interesting for those of us starting class in a couple of weeks?

Yes it is posted, there is a very large amount of movement as predicted. I found it surprising how many of the new hires on the ER chose to stay on the ER (lots of new hire transfers from NYC 7ER to ATL7ER). Plenty of 767 on the domestic side out of ATL as well. Also the most junior 777 FO's a '00 hire and 765 FO's are 01 hires.

Lots of stuff went unfilled, so many possibilities for new hires. In ATL a few 7ER and 73N positions, and about 90 M88 positions were unfilled. In CVG a few M88 slots. SLC, maybe 15 or so 88/90 slots, and in LAX they need a few on the 767 and 73N. NYC as always had a bunch of unfilled positions, but the big number was on the 7ER...almost 100 unfilled.
As Split S said, some new hires on the ER bid off, but not as many as I would have thought. Those that left mainly went to a domestic 767 category.
Some highlights, 777B in NYC went to a summer 2000 hire, while the 777B in ATL went to a late 2000 hire.
NYC M88A went to a mid 2000 hire. ATL M88A to a late 99 hire. ATL765B went to a spring 2001 hire.
CVG seems to be the senior base even with the new 73N category that opened. A lot of ATL pilots who were commuting from CVG went back home.
Big movement overall. I moved up almost 50 numbers in my category.

Good to hear. Thank you for the info.
What's the seniority for the most junior Capt. and where?
What do the letters A and B mean in "NYCM88A" or ATL765B"?
Thanks

Are the DOH years skewed a little due to the hiring freeze for so many years? Would not the 2001 hires in effect be 06 hires in relative terms to today's classes? Where is the big gap in DOH on the seniority list?

There are gaps in the list between Jan 92 and Oct 96, and then again between Jul 2001 and Feb (I think it was Feb) 2007.
To answer an earlier question, the junior captain is NYC M88A, hired summer of 2000.
And as the Professor said, A is for captain, B for FO.

Looks like the next AE that will be out in Jan or Feb. will have this years new hires holding lines on lots of stuff. Even the ER out of NYC and possibly the ER out of ATL.

To add to the other comments, new hires from my Oct 1st Indoc class were able to get the 767/7ER at every base except CVG. Junior guy to bid ATL7ERB is a 12 Nov hire, still in Indoc this week.
I wanted to get to ATL but asked to remain in NYC if projected to hold a line by the end of the conversion window (June '08), and apparently that was the case. 27 guys senior to me bid into NYC7ERB, but 41 senior bid out. 1 junior to me bid in, while 31 bid out. Add in the ~70 new hires going to the NYC7ER below me (including the second November class projection), and there is still an increase of about 40 below me, once they're all trained up, in concert with a decrease of 14 above me. There are 37 reserve lines in December and were 36 in November, so the lineholder prediction seems fairly accurate if that remains relatively stable.
