Are these the guys getting a Delta interview? What the heck is 100 MEI?

Some days I really hate this industry.

MEI = Multi Engine Instrument...?

Sounds like they are selling some type of Flow Through to Delta...someday.

And what happened to that 1500hr. minimum + an ATP new rule??

Default That is what they have always said.

D H (real initials) told me my ASA interview would get me hired at Delta back in 99. He said it again in 2001 and added that was getting 737's. For the most part, they are full of happy horsemanure like any airline management. Pilots are suckers for hope.

What a flow through does not fix is the loss of longevity and lack of job protection that losy scope guarantees. With our scope Delta is a flow through to no where. We are not hiring.

Either you need 100 instrument flying twins (which could take a thousand hours or a little pencil whipping)...

or you need 100 hours ME Instructing, in which case a guy with 3000 hours flying skydivers or checks isn't qualified?

That's why I'm scratching my head over 100MEI. Typo maybe.

MEI is multi engine instrument. The 121 check is done to ATP standards, so it checks the commercial block. In effect, a multi engine private pilot is welcome to apply.

I'm curious what is going on and how this ties into the ASA flow up business I've been hearing about.

Anybody know anything more?

So lets say Johnny WetInk signs on at SKW/ASA/XJet and gets seniority #7899.

And that means he only has to wait how many decades to get his flow-up slot?

Default Well things seem to going well I'd say!

United pilots say poor training is safety issue - Yahoo! Finance

In one memo during our quest for SOC, I thought the south guys were the only ones who could put the gear down and the north guys were to bring the gear up???
I guess only real problem then would have been when two north guys were flying together!

Needless to say a cheap shot by UAL mgmt! And yes I do still feel for north guys that had to re-learn all that Destroy Every Living Tree Alive stuff! Thank the Laud Hisself!! We be synergaitin!

Let's just hope we are done with mergers for a while! Don't wish that angst on anyone!

Those suckers are going to be really PO'd when they find out they signed a deal to get a job at ASA and Delta Airlines.

Even ALPA could find that loophole.

I'd rather merge with Alaska than outsource mass quantities of large narrowbody flying to them whole they grow twice as fast as we shrink and they get twice as many pax from the deal then we get from them. I'll be happy to learn new stupid calls and secret hiding places in the manuals to stop our biggest narrowbody whipsaw threat.

Default Atl m88b

I am curious how hard it is to jockey the sked of an ATL M88B (top 35-40%) and get 80-85 hrs. GS on weekends...ever? I know they were heavily staffed for a long time...thx
