Damn you PBS bid Computer, you have bested me again...
At my seniority, I know I'm flying over the Holidays so I preemptively asked for a nice high time 4 Day that finished up on Christmas day and would just allow me to commute home and open my presents at night...and maybe enjoy a drink in front of the fire. And bless you PBS computer, you unstacked that very same trip on me.....but you weren't done by a long shot. No, you searched high and low to find that perfect low time 2 day trip to back up against the 4 day so I wouldn't have a 30 in 7 and thus allowing me to spend Christmas night in the Kew Garden's crash pad. Ah, six straight days of duty over the holidays and nothing puts you in a festive mood like eating takeout Chinese food in a highly Jewish Queens neighborhood and then sleeping in a bunk bed with 3 or 4 guys snoring nearby.
Oh, PBS bid computer, I bow down to your superior intelligence...well played sir, well played.

Is this an ACL65 style head fake? He always says he's going to some place to make a bazillion flying all the time ... then when the bid comes ACL checks the Dude's schedule ... .
You know you miss Temperature Controls that have very little recognizable effect on the Cabin Temp, 120 decibel recirc fans and hitting your head, shoulders, knees and nuts any time you try to readjust your seating position.

"Now, would I go back to the US? Absolutely. Would I go back to a US regional? Hell to the NO! Would I leave a US regional to come to Emirates? Absolutely. Is it Delta Airlines? No. You'll work to the max, and you'll be tired and jet lagged. There's no ALPA here, no union contract, and they can modify your contract at their whim - they actually did that when they raised the overtime threshold at Emirates - again, you can quit or you can put up with it.
Having said that, show me a US airline that will pay for your house or apartment, pay your utilities, and give you over 7 grand take-home pay after it's all said and done - TO START... AS A FIRST OFFICER."
