I used to come on this site and read all of the unread posts. At one time, it was a great source for rumors and other information about Delta.

Now I just check the last page, to see if it's just the usual suspects beating the usual drum. It's getting old.

This DPA vs. DALPA garbage needs to be on it's thread, not this one. FWIW, this has turned me off to DPA (not that I was a huge fan of it previously).

I'm big time Bama and that is hilarious! It sums up the OT mistakes made by Bama unfortunately. Thanks for the laugh!

More major contract changes without Memrat thru LOA. Our inspired monarch surrounded with his selfless advisors definitely knows best.

Continuation of scope erosion thru the use of Alaska's virtually open ended ability to fly DAL pax at the expense of DAL growth...Alaska continues to grow. DCI not sunsetted. Small jet scope not recaptured. Deltas smallest jet will seat 130. DCI's will eventually be allowed to seat 90.

A small compensation increase with COLA for the life of the contract in effect extending our bankruptcy contract. Dont concern yourself that when you turn 65 you just might enjoy the taste of cat food.

A shrinking DAL pilot group due to non-growth and minimal fleet recapitalization combined with expanded code shares. However, if you shine your shoes and wear your hat, you can keep telling yourself that DAL pilots are the shizzle.

Minimal scraps of workrule changes that give the appearance of improvement over our beaten down current situation. We will be allowed to stop hitting our hand with a hammer.

Outsourcing is good for the Delta pilots. Repeat this over and over.
This is EXACTLY the sentiment I share.
Personally what scares me more than having a lousy pay raise, with minimal improvements, over the life of a contract, is the continued trivialization of Delta pilots as a mainline pilot group.

It's a hard pill to swallow watching our DCI carriers being awarded more contracts, while Alaska Airlines breaks profit records each quarter, and steady growth with our oversea alliances....all while we approach with modest capacity cutbacks.

I get that DALPA is listening, and I can appreciate that, but I feel as DALPA/ALPA is not looking out for our interests and hasn't been looking out for those interests in a while.

Just wait, you'll be turned off of ALPA after reading the next contract TA.

+1 I too used to read all the posts. Now I just scan through. Pretty soon I may not come back everyday

I think you're right on this, Bill. Hopefully we will be surprised by the TA and eat crow.

What are the chances that a DPA vote could be cast just after the TA opener is presented to the pilot group?

Could ALPA delay the TA opener until after the a DPA vote is held, if held?

I only ask because I think that will make a big difference in the outcome of said DPA vote.

This is what makes communications so difficult. I've never said that you were the problem with the industry. I've only said that you must take responsibility for your actions contributing to where we are now...just like I must do the same for my part in this scope disaster. The problem arises when many former RJ guys get angry for being told they had a part in how we got here. You don't like that. You liked it better when you could just come and complain (without challenge) how senior pilots sold scope and your future to line their own greedy pockets. I respond to those horrible insults by telling you that you had a part in that as well, and you distort what I said rather than accepting what YOU did. The fact that you lost respect for me for something I've never said speaks volumes about you.

Again, never said that. I didn't "avoid" going to American, I specifically chose to turn down my interview when I learned what a B scale meant. And I only talked about that because folks like you were saying I would have done exactly what you did if I were in your shoes.

I voted against that contract solely for the "B" scale. In 1998 I walked the picket to remove the B scale.

Read the above.

If we ever do fly together, we'll solve our challenges by dealing with facts. Not by putting words in each others mouths to shirk our responsibilities and blame others for the choices we make.
