Guy on the DALPA board said the AE will be out either this friday or the next. Closing the mem DC9 base, no new categories. Neutral bid (surpluses and awards roughly equal).

I would leave for Southwest in a heartbeat. A fourth year first officer makes about $6,000 more/month than me. I make about 7 grand gross, he makes 13 grand gross. It's pretty evident from ALPA's stance that I cannot expect an 85% raise. Don't even start about retirement. Southwest has a 9 percent match. Their match is greater than what Delta gives me (I'm part of the 150 screwed NWA guys with no pension and less retirement percentage than every single other pilot on the list). I'm starting to think that I will be pushing hard to get on at Southwest after our contract is settled. ALPA has managed my expectations way down.

Yep, southwest pay is nice, but I would be very hesitant to staple myself under the SWA/AAI mess. I'm still optimistic about the future here, but, if you're gonna go, there's no advantage to waiting.

Yeah the slot swap was supposed to create a need for more pilots but looks like it will be little more than capacity neutral reshuffling and half to 2/3 DCI. Maybe we can give some slots to AK so they can feed our international RJ's to Canada.

As I recall, in that early out program there were about 30 747 Capt. and 30 A330 Capt's who left, and in the last A/E (M/D) there were 15 777 Capt. displacements...so...unless there are 75 Wide Body Capt. A/E's in this next bid, I'd hardly call it neutral.

DC 9's getting bumped -up- to MD90's, yes, that's a good thing, but how about replacing some of the 75 missing wide body Capt.s?

Who gets the money from the slot swap auction? DAL, USAIR or the Government?

They are ASSETS of USairways and DAL... So as ASSETS it would only make sense the Airlines did..... Why would the government? Much like RAH trying to SELL SLOTS to generate money..... Republic/Midwest etc own those slot rights.
