SD was in the ATL pilot lounge this last week and stated that we MAY have more displacements. He said this a few months ago at one of the Phase of Flight deals as well
Problem with this is that they need the bodies in the big jets next summer. They do not want to displace more than they absolutely need to, since they will be retraining them back in the bid jets in a few months.
Because of the matrix, they were planning minimal to no displacements. Like I said if you see them right size the widebodie positions, then it is because they do not see a need for the staffing in Summer 2010.
As of a few weeks ago. Q1 2010 looked like a good turnaround.
Sailing is correct in saying our yield is down. It is down near 12%+. (The real number is dynamic and changes by the week) What that means is that we are very close to being red for the whole year.
I am thinking to take a VD this time around. Maybe even to the 88.

........let that Capt Dude do all the work, what he gets the big bucks for
It was interesting doing the overhead during integration training. I knew what everything was/did......but the little things, like how long to hold the cockpit recorder erase stumped me. Who says you don't go brain dead on a jet after 11 years

They are all the same but who cares, hold it down for 30 seconds and you can erase it a few times. Fact is that it is a soft erase, that is it. They can still get the data if they need it.....
Funny thing Fred is that I normally do the overhead. Most the guys I fly with tell me to do it and they will check it. We are Big Picture here. I hope ya like it. It does take some getting used to, but once you do you will like it!
BTW just get the switches in the correct position, there is not a Black and White flow to it.

Airlines are for profit. Profit for everyone but the workers of the airlines. Everyone that we rely to operate (airplane manufacturers, tire companies, oil companies, parts companies, food companies at the airport, etc) make a ton of money off of us. The only people that do not make a lot of money, are the ones that are employed at the non-executive management level and below.

Oh, by the way I'm moving........no not to ATL. Going HOME to PHX, wife is getting home sick. Now that the old Hughes guys are retired or commuting to SEA for the A330, MSP is actually do able again. Orrrrrrrrrr, maybe I'll look for something new.........can't say where.......Buzz

It's a monthly request you can make to go to a different base/cateogry. So, if you are a MSP DC-9 FO on reserve, you can put a request in to go to DTW or MEM as a Blockholder or Reserve.
It's a sweet deal because you get your hotels paid for and positive space passes to and from work. I'm not sure you even have to leave for the whole month.
The best story I've heard with a temp card is when a DTW based DC-10 s/o bid temp to HNL on reserve. If I remember his story corectly, he stayed out there the whole month in the layover hotel, and only got called to do an Osaka turn once. Aloha!

Heck - our FAs can do trip and leg trades. Not us. There have been times I was flying down to my commute city then back to ATL and had a JSer that could have picked up my leg had I wanted it.

They are not limited by Duty day or block so they can get away with it. Us, not so much.

Can't stand the DFW commute anymore?
There are a decent amount of DAL guys that live in PHX. Some go to LAX and some come to ATL.
Guess what Ferd? I am debating leaving ATL too. Depends on how the cards are played the next six months.
