If you aren't reserve you don't actually have to talk to a scheduler. Follow the prompts and that'll take care of it.

The JCBA was grandfathered Delta scope with snippets of NWA scope. The best lawyers in the industry overlooked that very important portion of NW scope.

Even if you are reserve you do not have to talk to crew Sched to deviate at the end of a rotation. The VRU is all that is needed to advise not ask.
