Both pilots seemed to be embarrassed having me on their jumpseat, and in hindsight, I understand why. It's a terrible operation, full of UAL furloughs and mediocre people.

Luckily, these guys will now act as Delta ambassadors. This, quite honestly, is the worst airline these airplanes could have gone to. Mesa would be a step up; if for no other reason for the competent pilots that work there.

Lastly, this is a slap in DALPA's face, not to mention the ALPA pilots that fill nearly all the DCI ranks (except Republic and SKW). Rewarding an airline that exists under such sinister circumstances is wrong, and spits in the face of those of us who came by our jobs honestly.

Strange that Republic and GoJet (non-ALPA DCI carriers) have gotten a combined 24 additional 70-seat airplanes in the last 4 months while Comair and Mesaba park airplanes.

Noble move, Richard. I hope you live to regret it.
We're rewarding airlines that game the system or flat out cheat the system. The first being RAH and the second being TSA creating GoJets to undercut TSA pilots.

I'm certain ALPA will put out something about this GoJets expansion and it'll be interesting to see it.

You are?

As an aside, my second favorite oxymoron in the airline industry is GoJet's use of "Lindbergh" as a callsign.

The only pioneering GoJet has done is in the circumvention of the collective bargaining process outlined under the RLA.

My favorite oxymoron is "regional elite" - which incidentally will be the company most likely responsible for the ground handling of the "Lindbergh" aircraft.

Lots of turd polishing going on..

They are TEAMSTER....

NOT ALPA.

This is a shot across ALPA's bow just as much as it is a shot across the Delta pilots bow.

Unbelievable. TSA is one of the worst organizations I have ever seen period.

Yes. There was a case with a NWA pilot that went to court and he won. He had a guard/reserve job in, I believe, SD and had to live within 50 miles for it. His base was in MSP and he had a commuter pad in MSP. Those are the basics and he won his case. There is a document about this floating around......

I would do some serious research into this before I did it....... I had a second (per diem) job for a couple of years flying around a 757 that has a new owner and and looked at this seriously but I didn't think I could do it based on my situation. And before anyone asks, I had written permission from Delta to do it. It ended last summer. So sad, it paid GREAT when I could do it!!

GoJet Airlines Announces Additional Flying and New Partnership With Delta Air Lines

12 Bombardier CRJ-700s added to GoJet’s fleet as Delta Connection

GoJet Airlines LLC announced today a new partnership with Delta Air Lines that includes adding 12 Bombardier CRJ-700 aircraft to the GoJet fleet. The dual-class aircraft will fly
as part of the Delta Connection program.

Under the terms of the agreement, GoJet will begin service with the 12 Delta-owned CRJ-700 aircraft in the first quarter of 2012. The total number of GoJet aircraft in service will rise to 37, almost a 50-precent increase in the airlines’ current fleet. GoJet currently operates 25 aircraft as part of the United Airlines Express regional service.

“We are pleased to add GoJet to the Delta Connection family of airlines, we believe GoJet to be a high quality airline and will be a great addition to the Delta network” remarked Don Bornhorst, President of Delta Connection.

“Today’s announcement is exciting news for GoJet Airlines as it not only expands our fleet, but it also marks our second partnership with a major airline. We are committed to this new code-sharing agreement with Delta, one of the largest airlines in the world,” said Rick Leach, President and CEO of GoJet Airlines and President of Trans States Holdings. “Since its launch six years ago, GoJet has strived to be a leader in the regional airline industry by providing our customers with safe, reliable and efficient service on every flight. In our role as a United Express carrier we are continually recognized for providing an excellent product with some of the most professional flight crews in the skies. Now, through this growth we have the opportunity to partner with Delta Air Lines and bring that same great service into this new relationship. We are also proud to grow our fleet of Bombardier aircraft, which have proven to be excellent performers in the marketplace.”

That should dispell any semblance of "constructive engagement" anyone could have ever had. For our "leadership" to go and hire one of the most cut throat dirt bag predatory bargaining union busting airlines in modern history just for a quick departmental management VP cost bonus fix is deplorable and indicative of extremely hostile section 6 intentions.

Forget scope grandfathering. Scope recapture 51 seats and up, period. That by the way is a generous compromise. SWA scope is mere LCC parity so continued 50 and under scope relief is extremely gracious and generous. They pay whatever penalties they negotiated to pay, but most of which are merely us taking over the leases, which we are paying for 100% anyway. Any additional penalties are chicken scratch compared to that anyway. No grace period, no phaseout. Scope relief is a 4 to 5 year loan not a permanant ACMI bidfest. Meet and confer with the MEC's now and get it over with.

Not to mention this type of short sighted no talent middle management garbage is trashing our airline from the top down, bottom up and inside out. SWA hate aside, I hope they dominate us in the eyes of the consumer on any and every outsourced route.
