Thanks guys... oh well.
Kind of ironic since the only difference was taxiing the plane around for a bit and flying an approach from the left seat during the MV. Now I will be able to taxi fully from the right seat and won't have said PIC rating. Go figure!
I'm honestly just looking forward to the french guy yelling at me more than anything!

Delta prefers to give the PIC to all initial training pilots. Then when the pilot goes through upgrade training down the line, the school is much shorter (total of 4 days for current FO's). The 320 training program hasn't been streamlined into Delta's AQP training syllabus as of yet. The SIC isn't a big deal for anything but you'll have to go through the all the hoops if you upgrade.
Just to clarify things, the ICAO standard was a type rating and their was only one type rating, no difference between PIC or SIC. In the past, US carriers who flew international gave FOs a type rating, again not specified PIC or SIC. It became an issue, mostly outside of the majors, when FOs didn't have any type rating and flew outside the US. The FAA created the SIC type rating as a minimal compliance with the ICAO requirement and the traditional FAA way of doing business for FO.

I got a SIC type on the DC-9 (88) when I got hired here back in 07, so I think it depends on the airplane you're on. Probably depends on the mission the plane flies as to whether or not a PIC type is required.
On the ER, it was required because someone on the flight deck had to have a PIC rating, so if the Captain was on break the co-pilots would have to have the PIC rating.
