Thanks guys... oh well.

Kind of ironic since the only difference was taxiing the plane around for a bit and flying an approach from the left seat during the MV. Now I will be able to taxi fully from the right seat and won't have said PIC rating. Go figure!

I'm honestly just looking forward to the french guy yelling at me more than anything!

Maybe I'm missing something, but does it really matter if it's a sic or pic type? Does one get paid (or laid) more?

It doesn't. It just increases the nerd factor by 6 internet points. Count em!

Pleasure meeting you too. I'll see if I can find some more pics or better yet take some at this year's games (if my wife doesn't catch me).

It matters if we furlough. The PIC type is worth more on the job market.

Saw him the other day while he was waiting to board a msp-dtw flight. Did not know him but flew with his girlfriend (who also does the airshow circuit) a couple of years ago. RIP Capt.

Isn't the question more like why give a type rating if it is not a PIC type rating? An SIC type is good for what?

Is a PIC type with no PIC time really worth anything?

Not really.

SIC ratings were used in Europe for years. FAA SIC became a requirement if you flew into Europe. That and $10 will get you a Starbucks coffee.
