Alfa, either way, we got our NC, and they are great guys that are doing a great job. I look forward to their tireless work on the behalf of all Delta pilots going forward.

A hearty congrats to all four men.

Depends on how long your application process, hiring, and training takes at Alaska! (Oh, you were asking, assuming you stay at Delta?)

I don't think the policy manual REQUIRE's an election.

No, it had a liberal interpretation. The point that is made is that if we are going to force the seven day window between TA of an LOA and ratification, then we should abide by all of the guidelines in the policy manual. Ala can't have it both ways. That said, this was the decision of the reps, and as we can see, they decided for the election. We should expect see strict interpretation of the policy manual on items like the seven day clock going forward.

Okay, it says "normally" you will have an election, what about this situation is not normal? It seems funny that the people complaining about openness and transparency find it threatening that the MEC would follow their policy manual to the letter rather than inventing some new process.

Seriously, why would the MEC listen to the pilots? What is the "secret motivation" to do what many pilots have been complaining about?

I think its a conspiracy!

I simply felt it was too close to Sec 6 for changing our negotiating committee, much like many anti DPA folk felt we are too close to Sec 6 to change unions. That is why I wrote my Reps and let them know my feelings. They clearly supported maintaining the current NC, & I'm happy with the results.

It was never about conspiracy for me. I just didn't want to change something that I felt wasn't broke. I suppose if there wasn't an election, others would have been up in arms over that.
