I wasn't talking pilot interfaces, I was talking about what the IT professionals were talking about. There is a lot more to it than Access, Pentry, Atlas, Icrew etc...

Exactly. Use the one that is the cheapest even if it is 20 years old. e-crew sucks, but it works just fine. I'm sure all the other departments have stuff that could be better, but if what we have works, use it. I'm sure they could spend 20 million bucks and get us a new e-crew system that is awesome, but I'd rather them not spend the 20 million bucks and give it to Richard and Ed, er I mean have more cash in the bank. Everything could be nicer, but I'm glad to see that they aren't just throwing cash around to get new stuff. Throw that extra cash in our profit sharing checks next spring.

Funny thing is DBMS has a lot more functionality than ATLAS and that is why they chose it. They are looking at another replacement but that is quite a few years away as we have a few other dragons to slay.

As for DTW. They know they just pushed out Spirit et al, so they will want to keep it theirs, but at the same time, they want to right size every market.

As for CVG and MEM, and for that fact all of our bases, "Game on" when it comes to SWA.

Just remember a lot of airlines have "rightsized" themselves into oblivion.

Rocky,

I think you misunderstood what we were talking about. Yes, the 'stuff' we have as pilots is older than dirt at NWA but it works just fine. What I was saying (TIC) was the interface the passenger sees, ie the ability to update via phone/PDA and the gate agent's ability for responding to irregular ops etc etc. Now, NWA (IMHO) was going way overboard with passengers checking their own bags etc, but that is what I was talking about anyway. ACL is right, there is some real nice stuff on the horizon. When the money is available (I think it WAS part of the origional IT plan, but not now) things will be beautiful........maybe for us too?

ACL,

I think your right about DTW. The biggest thing it has been since the new terminal has opened, is to take international biz away from United (and a lesser extent American) in Chicago. DTW is so much easier to hub out of than ORD if your coming out of the midwest somewhere.

SWA has actually cut service in DTW over the years from what I've heard. Why we don't fear them that much in MSP.

Yep, and its 81 ALV on the 73. We've been in the 80s for the last few months as well.

Yep, ALPA let them off the hook on that contract violation and it is costing some of us alot of cash. I had a line until Jan and so far this deal has cost me around $9000 and six more months of reserve life. Thanks DALPA for looking out for the company and not your dues paying members.

ALV's will be high through the summer and then all near 72 for the fall. It will all add up.

NWA does a great job of protecting their hubs. You will see that happen here too. We will not give up DTW, just make it more efficient and maximize the yeild out of there.
