A deadheading pilot for continental was very nice and took the JS so I could get on, but if it weren't for him I would have been stranded in a foreign country. Ugh.
Same thing happened to me on American. If you find out something can you PM me?

I believe Paxhauler got to start over someplace new two years ago when Mesa/Freedom lost the DCI flying. Don't recall where but I'd imagine he's still right seat.

Unless there are two Paxhaulers (and Spa(c)klers, and TSquares, etc).

Not just 600-700 new hires a year, but also all the upgrades and people moving between aircraft as well as recurrents. Can they manage 4,000 events a year?

They hired 90 per month through most of the late '80s til Jan '92.

They can flex up pretty easily if they use contract simulators.
We had facilities at Greenbriar. They used to send lots of guys to Miami all the time, etc. There are sims out there.
More expensive, but definitely an option if required.

RA to DALPA (hypothetically): "Well boys we can't train enough pilots to grow the airline and replace the retiring guys. We need scope relief on 100 seaters to grow the airline. Here's a 20% pay increase. Sign off on it or we'll lose market share."

Thoughts?

And if RA said that we should turn around and say 4-5 more sims is probably less than a 20% raise.

No thanks, sir. How about we hire executives that can actually run an airline instead. It was nice of you to offer 20% higher than SWA parity, but don't forget parity comes with scope too. 20% is barely 2 years worth of compounded inflation anyway, so whatevs dood.

We'll not lose market share. You'll lose market share and I'll grow my market share.

Since 2000, they've decreased our market share as Delta pilots by nearly 50% while increasing Delta's by about 20%.

With scope we share a common interest.

Without scope, we don't.

Win.

No scope relief.

Mandatory scope recapture to some significant degree, domestic, RJ and international, or don't even bother printing Section 3 because it is irrelevant.
