Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
T-37 Cockpit
I've got 1150 hours in this baby...as an instructor, cross-cockpit flying is the only way to go. Now they're all retired.
Highest I got was 25,000 ft, on 3 separate hops, the same day, unpressurized...that'll mess up your insides.
Does anybody know what ever happened with Delta Private Jets flying aircraft that violated the weight restrictions in our scope clause? Did management respond to that violation? Are they still flying? Thanks.

I was just considering the lack of transparency for the passengers. I think flying them on DCI when they think they are buying Delta tickets borders on dishonesty. I'm not saying it IS less safe, but it might play in our favor if a piece came out comparing the hours and training requirements of connection vs mainline. Not to mention the lack of quality control since the crew aren't hired, trained, or managed by Delta. I thought USA Today might be a good place to start because of all the hotel readership.
I would also mention the ways to tell what kind of ticket you are buying, namely aircraft type and "operated by". This might be a good time to put a bug in their ear if we have another scope battle about to begin. You know, kind of "picketing in print." Plus, those publications love to pick on the airlines in any way they can - they would love to write the article.

An A-37 crew pre-breathed oxygen and then flew @ 35,000 ft. It was a photo chase of an A-10 windshield washer test when AFFTC was looking for a solution to the gun-gas residue problem. They had to be very careful with the throttles to avoid engine rollback, but otherwise the SuperTweet did fine up there.

If you can squeeze every ounce of performance out of the maddog on every flight, you'd have a shot at taking Co-chair of resident "Sky-god" along with NewK.

Speaking of records - Once saw 651 KTs groundspeed on the Maddogs military cousin, the USN C-9B. We were flying over SW Japan in the high twenties in March. They turned us about 45 degrees off of the wind and our GS shot up over 600 KTs so when we got another turn almost completely downwind we bumped our speed up to the clacker (.84M) which resulted in a 651 Kt groundspeed. We figure we had close to a 170 KT tailwind.
Anyone have better than 651 KTS Groundspeed? And before all you TACAIR types chime in, I am strictly referring to transport and commercial type aircraft.

PS - And yes, we did take a picture of the FMS to prove it later on at the Atsugi O Club.
