Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Okay, this is starting to really **** me off.
Moderators: You let a thread about organizing ALPA (a union) at Jet Blue live in the prominent "Major" section of this forum. But any thread that discusses DPA (a union) trying to organize and replace ALPA at Delta gets moved to whither away and die in the "Union Talk" section of this forum.
Look. I'm not trying to necessarily promote DPA. But I do think the discussion is beneficial in either bringing DALPA around to start pursuing what the majority of our pilots want (restoration) or, if they won't do this, replacing them with someone who will at least try.
This is not the DALPA Forum where there are specific rules that prohibit the discussion of replacement of ALPA. I don't disagree that "Union Talk" is an appropriate section in which to discuss union issues. But if you're going to move any discussion of DPA to this section, then I think you need to move any discussion of any union matter to this section. Like I said before, I'm not necessarily promoting DPA... but I don't appreciate your transparent attempts to censor the discussion of DPA. IMO, you are damaging the credibility of this discussion board and are going to make it irrelevant if you're not careful.

Robin was the guest speaker at a Dining-Out at my former base back in 04. He ****ed off all the wives, but all the fighter pilots in the room loved it. Pretty sure he closed down the bar with us that night, although my memory of the event gets a little foggy toward the end

I wonder what excuse they would have given if the fuel prices had been low rather than high. (I'm including all the buildings not just NATCO)

Give me a chance to move the stuff, my gawd. I just got back from flying for a week.
That sounds like a dishonest excuse to me. The original DPA thread got moved to "Union Talk" at least a week ago. I immediately questioned the fact that the ALPA/Jet Blue thread was not given the same treatment. After no response, I then questioned it again. When a new thread about DPA showed up today, it was immediately moved to "Union Talk." The ALPA/Jet Blue thread is still in the Major section. If you already had time to move the original DPA thread a long time ago and then today's DPA thread to Union Talk, then you also had time to move the ALPA/Jet Blue thread that has existed for several weeks and to which I have called the moderator's attention three times now. I'm not buying your lame excuse. Sorry, but it seems obvious to me that you are practicing selective censorship. Not cool.

Re: NATCO Closing
I have to say I don't see how 8 bays is going to be enough.
A320 - 5 sims
A330 - 2 sims
B747 - 2 sims
B757 - 3 sims (I think)
and that is just the full flight sims, doesn't include FMS or PTTs or the sims used to train other airlines.
The real kicker is that management is STILL stuck on not offering hotel rooms and PS passes to/from the schoolhouse for instructors that don't live where the Training Center is located. If they did that they might not lose so much experience from the instructor corps.
I suppose the FAA will just look the other way and not consider it a safety issue during the "transition" if most of the instructors decide not to move to ATL and not to instruct (at leaston the 747 and Airbii)
It will be even more fun to watch the training backlog. Some sims don't react well to being moved.
