No repayment plan- no loan? What if that catches on nationwide? I'm curious what a bank would say to "I want to borrow $160,000 for college" (using Auburn out of state numbers) "and another $50,000 for flight lessons, and when I graduate I'll make $18,000 and be at that bottom feeding regional for a long time, especially if we can get age 70 and shift more flying from mainline to the regionals."

Forget Tuesdays. Im already getting Thursdays off!!! Im hoping for weekends by my mid 30's. That will show everyone who went to the votech school!!

A job as an airline pilot is a very contradictory job really.
For the most part you need a degree and lots of experience to do it professionally, but most universities see an aviation program as nothing more than a votech "truck driving" education and beneath them.
We, like baseball players, do something professionally that other people just do for fun.
I don't know, there are more contradictions but I think it's time we stand up for ourselves and do something more meaningful...

we could just realize that there is always someone who has done this younger, better and faster than we could ever do it so let's just focus on having fun and become airline pirates. argh...

And I'm not making that up, I heard that myself from a major university dean that has one during a private meeting about the direction of one aviation program.
We're white collar and heavily unionized. We, like baseball players, do something professionally that other people just do for fun.

Thanks for the information. I dropped the June trip and picked up a May trip independent of each other. I also did not know that a May pick up would automatically drop a conflict in the following month - I just assumed the pick-up would be denied, good to know.
